How long does it take for my Minibus provisional?

I've sent off for minibus (D1) provisional entitlement to go on my licence. DVLA says it can take 3 weeks and longer for it too arrive. Just wondering if anyone has applied for it before and how long it took!

Well nobody can possibly tell you, as they say it can take upto 3weeks. In my experience when applying for my LGV provisional it came back in a week and I hear the same from others, theory is that because it's a vocational licence they're slightly more rapid with it, and that's assuming you filled out your medical properly and there aren't any problems with it.

Mine was about a week for LGV if I remember correctly, quickest turn around from the DVLA i've ever had before or since.

In contrast, been trying to apply for a replacement V5 for my van since buying it late last year, it came this morning, 1 month since my most recent letter.

Useless wankers.

Just curious because i want to book my bike test and my licence is off with them at the moment. Bike school has a couple of slots on the 11th of march. Wondering if I risk it.

Well, it's still not here. It will be 3 working weeks since they received it tomorrow, so looks like I'll be giving them a ring!

I want to book my bike test, but I just can't risk it not turning up!

Turns out they've sent it to medical department. Apparently anyone with anything on there gets extra checking. Not sure why mine has gone through as it's clear for everything.

They reckon it could take another 2 weeks.
