PostPosted: 16:19 - 27 Feb 2009    Post subject: Bike stolen then found Reply with quote

About a week ago me and Matt(sprattuk) had a run in with some urban youths, while stood next to our bikes on my road. The usual talk big then back the fuck down stuff. As they walked off they shouted "keep an eye on your bikes" couple days later I met three of them and had a similar thing, ended in me walking off, getting half a brick thrown at/near me, me turning round and them running away.

Anyway this morning my mates CG was missing, which was parked on the road outside, and has been parked in the same garden as my FZR for the past week, it's not much of a stretch to guess it was these fine young men (for one thing there's a ZXR400 on the same road with no security either)

Did a bit of looking round this morning, about an hour with two bikes but found nothing, then got a call from police saying it's in a prak 5 mins walk from my house.

Bikes owner went to uni and I went to have a look, and found it hidden at the back, in some thick bushes with a 10 yard 'path' type thing leading too it, no other way out of the bushes, and a couple picnic benches in full view of the entrance to said thicket. Bikes owner is going to pick it up with the police in a bit, and told me not to do anything, so I didnt, and came home for a microwave lasgne.

Now, I don't think it's a stretch to say the scrotes will be back to have a play with it either after school, or when it gets darker.

Thoughts?

stash the CG back in the bushes where you found it and run a cable off it to the mains of a nearby house.

sit back and wait for the fireworks ^^

Was the bike just left there on show waiting to be nicked? My advice would be to invest in some form of security, or else this will become a weekly game of 'find the CG'.

Why didn't you pick it up and take it home then and there? Now the police will probably steal it for themselves and your mate will have to pay to get it out of storage.

Lol, far too much to type.

Bike owner went to pick it up with a housemate, and me and Matt (endless nameless, my other housemate) got a paniced call saying "can you come meet us, there's kids following us" Laughing

Me and Matt went to find them, with 4 or so ugly dregs following them, these ones where younger than the ones from the other day, ~15 year olds, me and Matt had words with them while the bikes where pushed away, the usual fronting up "why are you covered in oil" "nah look at your haircut" bollocks, while we tried (and failed) to keep a straight face.

They backed down, then threw rocks at us as we walked off, me and Matt got back to bike owner and housemate, who had called the police. Then we walked back and started putting all the bikes in the garage.

Turns out that the kids arrived in the bush as the bike was being recovered, so they blatently knew it was there, and almost certainly knew who took it/took it.

Anyway, fucks sake as we got the FZR in the garage they came round the alleyway corner as the door shut and they went into next doors bloody garden. Next door have the police round about once a month.

So three of us are in the garage at the end of the garden, with them in next doors garden, with a short fence between us. Figured it''s best they dont know which garage is ours so we stayed there for fucking ages.

Then we came in for biscuits. Apparently one of them was waving a metal pole around. I thought it was a bit of an overreaction, but these shits are unpredictable, not fussed with getting in a scrap with the older ones, but how hard is it to knock a bike off it's stand/cover it in brake fluid.

Knobheads.

The cops have been really helpful throughout. Maybe we were just lucky but the general ACAB opinion of most of BCF seems pretty much bollocks. The cops gave the owner of the bike a lift to where it was, and called him as he wheeled it back (just as me and Tristan were "having words") to check everything was OK.

Sounds like theres nothing your going to be able to do now,
they'll probably have someone hang around at some point and check which house/garage you go into and then theyll try again for fun?

They know our neighbours it seems, they were in their garden anyway, plus the bike was nicked from outside our house (which had the FZR and H100 in the front yard, easily visible, and both pretty distinctive), it's a fair bet they know where we live and know which garage is ours. The H100 is now at a friends (the guy whose CG got nicked) place across town so that's safe, there's a very dead, very fucked XJ turbo in front of the side door of the garage... stuck in gear with no clutch lever. My CG is locked to the main door with a pushbike cable lock (only thing that would fit round the door brace), and to the FZR which is locked to the ground anchor. The garage door is broken and a pain to open anyway. The other (recovered) CG and a pushbike are locked either side of my GS, which is a big heavy bugger, has a steering lock and a chain through the wheel. The CB is in bits spread across the garage!

In short, we've done all we can at short notice... thing is, here is usually reet quiet. There's a ZXR and a Ninja on the same street every night, neither of which are ever locked.

Only worry is they'll find some petrol and send the whole lot up in flames. Bikes are probably too tightly packed to knock over hard enough to do much damage, fingers crossed. Well, except the Turbo, we're hoping they'll try and climb in that way and it'll fall on them Laughing

Oh, the brakes on my CG, which is probably the easiest and most desirable to pinch (in terms of ragaroundaparkability), have been removed for cleaning. They've been put back together, but I've not got around to tightening them up yet Wink

So basically, you and matt have quite big mouths on here on oscassion, and yet do nothing in real life? Surely You have your own weapons? With a type of group like this, you really need to square up to them and fuck one up. If you don't then you'll be fucked for a while until they get bored.

The only thing is, if you fuck one up, you will get a retaliation, and it could lead to much worse.

I mean, how can you let them throw stones at you and just walk off? Grow some damn balls ffs. Very surprised not even one of you got angry and smacked them up.

S' OK, I've not got a butcher's knife.

The CG is off the road and I've been doing the brakes, nowt wrong with that. And the Turbo is where it is 'cos you can't get the wheelie bins into the back yard otherwise.

Honest.

The cops know the kids (and our neighbours) anyway. I suspect they'd turn a blind eye if, say, a bike did fall on them.

Haha, you want me to start a fight with 15 year olds? After fetching a weapon? Funniest thing I've read all day.

If you read it, when the older ones threw a half brick at me the other day I did try to vent my displeasure, they fucked off.

If you had any experience with these kinds of people you'd know that whatever you do to them one on one, unless you have a name for yourself/your gang you get it repayed either by sneaky shit, like property.vehichal damage, or you get shit kicked out of you by their bigger mates. And we are hardly the ones mouthing off in this situation. To be honest the look on their face when they realise you're not scared of them and they're not willing to do anything is a win for me.

And if I'd known it was them that took it when me and Matt O(E,N) arrived today I probably would of hit one of them, which would certainly of led to a bad situation.

Well done. We have to live here. We also have to sleep, preferably without waiting for a fireball to come through the window, or a gang to wait round the corner for when one of us nips out for a pint of milk.

Instead of us growing balls, maybe you could try obtaining some common sense? It's not like we just let them walk over us, we just didn't try to make things worse.

I've yet to hear of anyone ever actually "smacking someone up" in a situation like this. It's very easy to have a big mouth on a forum, less easy in real life.

I can introduce you to our neighbour if you think your 'ard enough, he's a big basstid mind...

Well, if you won't stand up by retaliating, then it will get worse. I live in a rough area and have seen this happen to people before. Honestly, make yourself more vocal and aggressive. If you keep quiet, these kdis will label you as a bunch of guys to throw stones at etc and it can escalate.

As for smacking people up. I use to jump many people when I use to go clubbing/out at night. It was part of my life. I was young and careless though Smile

Yeah. Right. So, if we make lots of noise about it and bash a few heads, half the big council estate round the corner these kids are from definitely won't be waiting at the end of the street for us?

There are four of us. We're hardly a mob. And no, I think it's safe to say none of us are tough nuts like you so obviously are.

Well, Matt might be.

Okay after reading it all slowly, I still feel you should have done more.

How many live at your property? Are you guys medium build etc?

Any pics of your garage and house? How easy is it for them to get to?

What weapons do you have? Baseball bat? Metal poles? Gold club? Knife? How easy is it to access these?

Do you have friends who can come to your house within 5 mins?

How many people can you get together? If you need to reck some of them, how soon, and how oraganised can you be?

If you can get atleast 3 cars, that will be intimidating for them if 2 cars park outside a house and 5 guys go out. Carry weapons on you, and make sure none of them go on the phone. Make sure you have 2 friends, which are both on the phone to one car each.

Any trouble, rush them but whatever you do, plan it with all, and make it fast.
