As above, I'm after new road type tyres for my ts50 as the vee rubber off road ones currently fitted are useless.
These are the choices of rear tyre for my bike:

link

Ive narrowed the list to two tyres for the rear, these are :

Michelin M45

or

Pirelli City Demon

Which will be the better tyre? The Michelin is £30 and the Pirelli is £50, the prices aren't an issue , id rather have the better tyre of the two, even if it means spending a bit more for the Pirelli.
Or would the metzlers on the main page be a better choice?

Also I'm trying to find a brand make 21- 2.50 front tyre, it seems non of the well known brands produce any in this size, id rather not buy chinky tyres either, does any one know of any where that does decent tyres in this size?

Edit: ME77! Not ME22, gets a positive review from me.

Think you'll struggle to find any pure road tyres in 21"..

Trailwings are meant to have good on road performance with light offroad capability, and there's some Avon dualsport type tyres that look to have a very road biased tread pattern that I've seen on a husky running offroad wheels around here, but I can't remember for the life of me the name of them.

Hi

Those are both road tyres, and as above I think you will struggle to find a 21" road tyre.

Think the metric equivalent to the 2.5 tyre would be an 80/90, and there seem to be a few 80/90 21 tyres.

All the best

Keith

Avon Distanzias are the ones I was thinking of

Being how they look on dirt wheels as opposed to big old dual sport ones.

Look like they'd offer pretty nice street grip and whatnot, but can't see them being much use in the muddy stuff.

As Keith suggests - there should be a reasonable range of tyres available for street use on thinish 21" rims.
For instance; https://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk/tyres/pirelli-tyres/scorpion-mt90-street/cat_152.html

I've got the Metzeler Sahara Enduro 3 on my KTM690 and it makes a decent road tyre that can handle gentle off road ok and more serious off-road in a very slidey manner!

I suspect you might be able to fit a 120 tyre on your 3.0 rim; my KTM EXC rims aren't /that/ big and take a 110 or 120, though may still be bigger than that.

Bump...

Did you go for the M45s in the end? I'm thinking of a set for my CB250, seeing as they're cheap and from a real manufacturer.

I think city demons are a proper radial, which feel wrong on my bike. Dunlop K82s were good. Pirelli MT65s were terrible.

Is all of the no-name stuff still as shit as ever?
