Hello I have been having problems with my NC30.
When the bike has been running for about 20-30 mins it cut out, it is not over heating. I have had a fuel problem checked breath pipes and other stuff like that removed fuel tap ect.
I put it on a dyno gas run and it was running low on CO.
which is air fuel mix (I was told) so I have order a factory jet kit and have installed as instucted my first set up was the same and i still had the same problem second set up and i have now moved the clip 3 up from the tip of the needle.
as VFR owner know its not the best bike to work on the carbs have been in and out the tank and air box removed hundreds of time.
If theres anyone who can help please contact me

Nice one cheers

Hi

Low CO probably means a lean mixture. However at idle this will not be affected by the needle jets.

Check for air leaks after the carbs. I understand that with the NC30 the recommended way to balance the carbs is to use needles in the carb rubbers, and then connect the vacuum gauges to these. This always struck me a slightly damaging, so check for a large number of holes from people doing this.

All the best

Keith

Cheers Brov I will check it out.
on the gas run the CO was ok at the top of the rev counter about 12000
but very low at the bottom.

Hi

Is the engine standard?

Wonder if the slides are sticking slightly in the carbs.

If the carbs are working fine then at the bottom end of the rev counter the mixture is dependent on the idle mixture adjustment screws, then the needles come in to play, up to the main jet at the very top. Any air leaks will have their greatest effect at low revs.

All the best

Keith

My (and Fazed) old NC24 did that. Turned out to be low compression in the end. Check the compression, if its off do the valve clearances, check compression again. If its still wrong you're looking at a dodgy head gasket or piston rings.

Is it a cunt to start?
