This year I want to go and watch my first bike race! Very Happy I've been to a few other races BTCC, Renault World Series and Ferrari racing days but never been to a bike one. The circuits I want to go to are either Brands Hatch, Silverstone or Donnington Park.

Which race is the best to go and see Moto GP, WSB, etc?

I like being able to go into the paddocks and stuff which is quite easy in races like Touring cars unlike F1. So can someone recommend one please Thumbs Up

If you want to feel close to the action try a BSB race at Mallory,as for the bigger stuff any one of the tracks you mentioned are good.

I personally don't like going to the big tracks as you feel a bit distant to the action but you have no choice if you want to watch WSB,MotoGP.

I've been to all three tracks and I think Donnington is the best for closeness but i'm just not sure on which type of race to go and watch. Also how much are Moto GP tickets roughly?

You want to get close to the action, go and watch some speedway. Cool

I think it's rather underrated as a spectator sport in the UK.

You've probably picked the three worst tracks for actually seeing a race. Donnington isn't too bad, but still its not the best. I would suggest going to see a BSB race at Cadwell Park and standing by the mountain! Smile Mallory isn't too bad, and I like Lydden Hill but I don't think they do BSB there, let alone any of the others.

I'd go and watch a club race at Cadwell, then it on the stand by the start/finish, you can see quite a lot from there including the mountain.

I think Mallory was the best for being next to the action and they did a pit lane walk last year (BSB). I always go to donny for the GP and WSB but at £60 for GP I now go to the Sat qualifying instead (about £25) i think WSB was about £30 for race day and BSB was about £25 race day

First round of BSB at Brands hatch is always hard to beat, it's on Easter weekend this year.

As for Moto GP and WSB you're better picking one of the European ones. Neither Donnington or Silverstone are worth going to, the tracks are fine, but customer service is unheard of..... you're just another mug to fleece! We did Valencia last year and have booked for Brno this year, and overall the cost doesn't have to be that much more for what is a considerably better experience.

For stuff over here I tend to stick to BSB 'cos the smaller circuits are better all round, Brands, Cadwell, Thruxton, Mallory, Snetterton all know how to treat punters and because of how close you are to the action the racing is much more involving.

I picked these tracks because they are the ones closest to me apart from D park where a relative lives nearby but I will look into the others people have mentioned because I don't know where any of those tracks are Laughing

Just looked at some of the ticket prices and Moto GP Shocked so I might give that a miss as there will be about 5 of us going so it gets a bit too much.

BSB looks good, couple of questions though which support races are there and which day is race day?

I've decided that I'm probably looking to go to the BSB opening at Brands! Hopefully the weather won't be like last year Laughing

Get the weekend ticket for Brands (Sat, Sun, Mon), £28 for 3 days, practice, qualifying and raceday. A raceday ticket on the gate is £23. You will also get the chance to take a pit walk on practice or qualifying days.

Yes, see above.

All the support races are well worth watching, take some earplugs fpr the 125 race though!

If you want to keep the cost down, take some food and drink with you. As usual it is expensive for burgers etc.

Clark curve is a good place to watch from.

Thanks for that I was going to ask where the best place is to watch Thumbs Up

A weekend ticket won't be of much as I will probably only go on one day

Opening race is on the indy circuit so a long sweeping right hander at Clark rather than hammering down the hill. There are generally plenty of incidents there especially if its wet. I have even seen two Superstock riders having a punch up after a 'coming together'!

Went to watch BSB last year at Oulton Park, well worth the trip. Smile
Only went for race day.

As has been said, take a packup with you. Food and drink in the circuit is very expensive, it is reasonably eddible for burger van style, but expensive
Also take a folding chair with you, if you have one take a mahoosive brolly as well, either for the sun (lol) or the rain. Smile

Good places to watch will be busy, people get there really early and setup a tent, no really, they do. At Oulton at the good places we were probably behind 2 or 3 rows of people, but the front row were dug in with tents and chairs so they were low down. Smile

A guide with circuit addresses on can be round here It does have overseas circuits on it, but you can pick out the UK ones. Smile
