Hey Guys

Heard this muck-off is the amazing for your bike chains,spray it on then just wash off.

Does it also work on wheels/brake block basically anything you cant really clean with a cloth or reach..

i have gone through countless cans of it, i only used it for my chain once and ended up with a few stiff links but that could have been down to general niglect in all fairness, the reason i keep buying it is for cleaning the rear wheel after the chain vomits on it, does an absolute cracking job on that, spray on leave a few minutes then all the oil wipes off, i swear its magic,

then autoglym clean wheels for the brake side of rear and the whole front wheel, gets em lookin like new

I use it - i bought some bottles a the NEC show but i dont really think its much good at all.

Gonna try some S-DOC 100 Gel - supposed to be awesome - expensive though!!

We had a promotion on to sell that stuff.
The more each store sold the more vouchers we got.
Didnt sell many because of the price.
You have the HG own MC cleaner which is in a gallon tub (think it was a gallon) for £17 and you can water it down - would last ages.
Or the SDoc which is near on £12 (promo box - free sponge ) and would last me around 4 washes

Got to agree with Louise, the S-Doc 100 is not as good as it's cracked up to be, and expensive at £12.

I stumbled upon Pro-Clean at the local Suzuki dealers, and found it much better and cheaper, 1L/£5 or 5L/£20

When my latest 5L runs out I may try Hein Gericke's own brand gel cleaner, but the Pro-Clean is so good I'm reluctant to buy another product and perhaps not get the same, or as good, results.

the muc off i use comes in a spray can, cost £4.99 from halfrauds and lasts 6 or 7 washes, i love the stuff

I use the cheapy 3 quid hein gericke stuff on my fairings!

For hardcore chain degreaser and muck, muc can fuc off lol! I use a spare bottle + spray nozzle, fill it with parrafin and my housemate's turtlewax car shampoo, give it a quick toss, squirt and agitate with a brush and off it goes! I fill 1/6 shampoo and the rest with parrafin. Does the job nicely in finely dispersing the paraffin onto the chain and soaking through. The car shampoo is pH neutral and shouldn't really affect the rubber o rings!

Parrafin + car shampoo make for a VERY effective degreaser and means that my chains come out looking very clean at the end of it all.

Best stuff I have used is Cillit bang, 100% serious, its awesome for cleaning the bike in general and brings up the wheels and chain a treat even after riding all week with the salt on the roads.

Aint cillit bang horrendously alkaline though? I'd be wary about spraying that near too much ally alloy - since they're susceptiable to alkali attack.

I have used it already last week,and ddnt rinse off

What i done was ,i used a toilet brush to ge all the shit off then wiped with a cloth,then just re-oiled.

Will the turps damage your chain

another good alternative is brake cleaner.
spray on. wipe off. perfectly clean.

I was given a bottle of that S-DOC 100 Gel. I wasn't impressed. It seemed no better than just car wash shampoo. Certainly not worth the monet they charge for it.

Muc off's good for getting into places you can't normally reach. It still needs brushing in if it's thick grunge. You can't beat parrafin for really thick grunge.

I use Muc-Off on the bike, with one of those brushes you connect to a hose for scrubbing and rinsing. It's okay. Then I clean the chain with a harder brush and paraffin, just dipping the brush in a pot of it and scrubbing. Works well and its very cheap at £6 for 4 liters of it from B&Q or Homebase etc. Also got one of those automatic chain oilers from https://www.chainoiler.org.uk/ for £15 which works a treat. Fill it with 10w40 and off we go.

Hi Neil

Just a few questions about this oiler.

You can adjust to one/two drips per min which is great on a long run.Do you have to turn it off when you get closer to home.

You see i park my bike on monoblock as the side of the house ,so would i have to calculate ,say when leaving work to home takes me 30mins would i have to stop half way to turn off in case of access oil on chain which would then drip onto ground.

Or does it only oil chain when moving
