Bought Superbike and PB for years from the early nineties,i've got boxes and boxes of the things in the loft,now only buy Superbike after PB went down the pan,i liked it when Hargreaves,John Robinson,Ronnie and Gus and others were in it.

I've got a few subs on the go, one was using £10 of clubcard vouchers that I needed to use up (Superbike I think), the other was full price one for Two but I got a Krall Chain and Lock worth about £60 which I needed anyhow. Had the 3 free issues of Bike from the MCN stand and might start getting that instead now once the others run out as you can get that with clubcard vouchers now.

Its true you can find most of the stuff online, but I don't tend to take my laptop into the crapper with me...which is the only place I read the mags!

I used to buy them religiously but after I threw about 400 away, I only now buy them if I'm on a flight or a train for a long period of time.

Don't buy them anymore as I realised after about 9 months of buying a few that they just go over the same things over and over and over, Sure the BCF is a bit like that but at least there is some user participation and there is very little vested interest ie we tell it as it is and don't fear the wrath of the advertisers.

I too, bought a subscription to bike with Tesco vouchers. Not a bad mag, but if only they'd stop doing '600 shootouts', they seem to repeat on a regular basis.

I read Ride occasionally, very useful if you're buying kit, for the testing and comparisons.

used to read my Dads copy of Ride, now he doesn't buy it i read it in ASDA whilst her in doors is looking for cards.

Usually buy one if I'm going away with work and have a long train ride to kill (this happens often)

RIDE would be my choice, it's the clearest/best presented I've found and has a good variety of stuff in it

I bought Bike and Super Bike magazine. I liked "USED TEST" corner titled "ego-free twins". Super bike magazine was covered with plastic bag printed "FREE", but it wasn't free...

I have a subscription to Ride I got for my birthday last year after I'd been buying it every month anyway. The thing I like best about magazines is it's one of the only places you can see real road bikes being ridden on the roads instead of just sportsbikes on trackdays like on here, the photography is great in the mags. The trouble with forum rides is everyone is always too busy riding to take pictures so it's always "here us outside meet point A, then here's us outside the pub, then here's us etc etc etc" and it's just not the same as seeing some person ripping up the roads.

i used to read MCN every week, but then found i ignored 2 thirds of it ... no interest in cruisers, little interest in classics and th rest was advertising - now i only read the MCN questions and law bit on a half page when im in a big shop. now i subscribe to BIKE because i find it a good read and i enjoy reading about the trips and at the time they had some riding tips which were good (less now - maybe more for summer?) and it had a free front paddock stand which has been handy.

does any one know, if i cancel my subscription and leave it for a few months (2 or 3 say) and then re-subscribe, do i get the free gift again? or do they check names, or addresses or something? could i subscribe to it in a different name (first or last?) or at a diffferent address? (work wont mind!) just think if im paying for it i'd like another free gift if possible, i like presents and i have the feeling they wont tell me if i ask, so does anyone know?

I've got a subscription to Bike. It is quite true that if you want to read about bikes, you can't beat the internet, however, i like having something i can stick in my bag and read on my breaks whilst at work.

Tend to only buy the mags when there is something of interest in them tho, such as products reviews for something I need etc.
