I seem to remember squabbling over people pimping their ride a while back ... now my ride is a little pimped ... the pic I put up at the time was not a late one, since then it has a new undertray ... took this pic today and it shows the new undertray .... Thumbs Up

I'd like to think what has been done is in keeping with the bike ... but is it too pimped?

It's

1) a Suzuki
2) an SV650

therefore, it'll never be "pimp" Laughing

(looks ok for a sv tho I guess Wink )

How pimped is it? Let's examine the evidence:
a) A tacky bolt on undertray.
b) A cheap Viper endcan.
c) Some bolt on faiting lowers.
d) Some functional crash bungs.
e) A clear double bubble screen.
f) Some horribly mis-matched tyres.

It's not very pimped at all really, is it?

Was thinking of a way to say this, but he did it better. Just read his post for my opinion.

Looks okay for a commuter bike.
The undertray is nasty though.

What mods should I have made then?

That isn't true is it ... you can pimp a C90 ... its still going to be a C90, but you CAN pimp one!! Razz

I've got progressive springs in the front and a ZX636 shock in the rear!! Thumbs Up But I don't intend to ever take it to a track!! Razz

Yeah, I prefer the later version of the SV 'pointy', they look better, with a set of factory lowers they look quite sporty!! Thumbs Up

Good, I hate 'pimped' rides!! ... I just realised that mine is probably more pimped than I realised (I only put the lowers and undertray on it and upgraded the suspension, the rest is as I got it) ...

I'm often amused by the way people take 'pimp' to somehow mean some kind of good thing!
The question was about whether it was /too/ pimp... and for me, yes, it is.

not a pointy simple as.

It's okay but SV forks corrode like anything, no GSXR front end conversion, not bored out to a 750 or R6 Throttle tube.

Sorry that's a bit picky, for a curvy it's nice and probably in a lot better nick than my pointy.

He means by 'bolt on' that it is a 'bolt on' mod as opposed to something that was either thought carefully about or required serious work.

Think sewer pipe with an end cap and you're nearly at the end of the market where Viper reside. £80 for a brand new can? Please.

the SV looks best completely naked. There is no two ways about it.
Blue_SV650S wrote:

He means they are functional and as such not a 'pimp accessory'

Blue_SV650S wrote:

Yes, coloured screens do look ghey, but they also look pimp. Have you seen Huggy Bear? Can you honestly say he doesn't look ghey (or even gay)?
Blue_SV650S wrote:

You'd be better off not telling anyone about the shock and then just riding quicker than everyone else. This would hopefully fool people into thinking that you're more of a riding god than you are. If you want true pimp then you want a standard shock with a massive OHLINS or PENSKE sticker on the tail unit.

So people are being cocks (it has no numerals, by the way; spelling incorrectly will get you bad karma, for the record Smile) because they are offering their opinion when they are asked for it?
Should people only offer good opinions in case they hurt someone's feelings?
I'd much prefer people were honest about what they felt when I asked the question, than just tell me I'm great whatever I think (though perhaps some people do take the other side a bit too far Rolling Eyes.)

More to the point, in the past he seems to have taken such criticisms etc in good humour Thumbs Up.
