Rolling Eyes

Quote:
A woman has been caught riding a motorbike down a main road in Fife with her five-year-old-son sitting on the petrol tank, police have confirmed.

Officers stopped the 23-year-old woman in Glenrothes, Fife, after she was seen driving the bike with the child, who was not wearing a crash helmet.

She was charged with a number of driving-related offences and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

The woman was spotted by officers during a routine patrol on Thursday.

Insp David Houston, deputy head of road policing at Fife Constabulary, said: "Any normal drivers on the road would have been extremely surprised to see something like that.

"I have little doubt that the woman involved in this case now fully recognises that danger that she placed her young child in.

"I would appeal to parents to think carefully about the decisions they take to provide 'fun' for their kids.

"All too often we have attended incidents where motorcycle or quad bike misuse has led to injuries to young people.

"This case unfortunately highlights the misguided decisions that some people make."

Keep social services out of it. Ruining a family because someone else thinks it dangerous isn't ok.

They dont neccesarily have to take the kid just do a few checks and scare the parent a bit make them think and let them know there being watched sort of thing.

On the fuel tank with no helmet illegal bike ect. the kids safety was obviously not even thought of Thumbs Down

What chance would the kiddy have if something had pulled out first first they hit the car then they are crushed by there own parent who was ment to keep them safe

Thumbs Down

I used to regularly ride on the tank of my Dad's BSA Bantam, while my brother rode pillion. All without helmets.

It's a wonder we weren't all killed. Shocked

I can sort of understand it if she's foreign as it's quite a common practice the further east you go.

Though they are tightening up on these sort of things these days; the Greeks are even being made to wear helmets and the police are actually enforcing EU laws.

I've seen whole families on a Honda C90, dad up-front, mum pillion, baby squeezed between them, the eldest sat behind mum half on the luggage rack, junior stood up between dad's legs, and not an helmet in sight.

The weirdest thing is the way the old women ride side-saddle, they'll be knocking that on the head soon and for good reason... Wink
