It's back. Just like my sorely missed CG125, but with added durability and a hint of green laning possibilities. If all goes well, I'll pick it up next week (when I'll take a couple more photos).

I sold the CG just before Christmas. The wobbly rhs footpeg (mounted to the engine block) wouldn't have past an MOT and I didn't have the time to fix it up. So I sold it on, and regretted that I had.

Since that time I've been using my CBR6 daily, but sorely missing the adventures I had on the 125, I just had to buy another.

I'd considered Pit Bikes, other 125s, classics, even a C90, but this came up locally, I took it for a spin and thought it was the best choice.

I've never tried off roading before, so hopefully this will get me started too.

You'll love the bike for shits and giggles. Then again, the XR125 is probably the most i spent purchasing a bike Laughing

I bought the bike for 2150... which is ironically the same purchase price i paid for my blade! From honda to honda in 4 steps! There was me thinking that i had brand loyalty to kawasaki..

How much did you get the XR for? My recommendation is to put more viscous fork oil in the front to steady itself on the roads because it used to wallow a bit.

If you've got BBQ paint or hammerite; now's the time to use it. I spent many a weekend getting high in my garage spraying that stuff on my downpipes.

It's in VERY smart colours too... very understated. I might be tempted to find another one just for a runabout!

Really looking forward to it. There was a great sense of adventure on the CG, the notion that I could pretty much ride anywhere care free. Round town, down the back roads, over to friends, just going out on a bike for the sake of being on a bike. I don't get that with the other ones I have (or had, not since my CB1 anyway). The XR is even more than that - the ability to literally go anywhere I want to.

A couple of friends are talking about doing some bigger touring trips this year. I could easily do it on the CBR, but I don't think it'll have the same appeal as if I was to do it on something slower and, a little less, hmmm orthodox (?) I guess it depends what mood I'm in - scratching around at silly mph with my hair on fire, or sit back, relax, and emmerse myself in the whole adventure of the thing. I'm being greedy, I've bought a bike I technically don't need. But now I've got a choice for whatever mood I'm in. If Lucky last year was anything to go by (the fact that I never bought it to commute on, but just couldn't help riding the thing), I'd probably be reaching for the XR's keys more often than the CBR's.

I live out in the sticks as well, and there's a myriad of uncharted back roads, gravel roads, single lanes, even the odd legal green laning route (which I'm going to be looking into).

I paid £1750 for it. Which is a lot more than I thought I'd spend on another 125, considering that's a hell of a lot more than the CG. But it was the right bike, locally, a year old and only just been run in (2100 on the odo). And suprisingly for a 125, never dropped. Still under waranty as well. The paint scheme was the final selling point. I've got a thing for white bikes and it'll blend nicely into the rest of my collection. I'm going to have to learn to try to not clean it every 5 minutes as well - after all, it is a "dirt" bike.

Sweet. I'm thinking of getting a second set of rims to fit nobblies. Ventured up near Leith Hill earlier - seemed to be a fair few crossers and quads about. Awesome views and single lane roads to get lost around too.

my mates got one of them, its like a bouncy castle, the travel is amazeing on it.
i can literally jump up and down on it while its on the sidestand without it comeing off the side stand.

Offroading isn't too sharp on the road tyres you get as standard, I would advise you get knobblees... Wish I did! I really miss my XR, had so much fun on that thing.

It's simply stunning even before when it was covered in tyga gear. The XR looks alright being honda should last a bit, is it the same engine as the CG? Will go on forever if it is. Thumbs Up

Yep, same engine. Different gearing, an added electric start (same as later model CGs), still retains the push rod 2 valve setup. 65mph on a good day, but I'm yet to see over 60mph.
