Im thinking of doing it on my fazer as they have seen better days. when they dry are they hard enough to stop chips etc or would i be better off with 'normal' spray paint?

You'll struggle to get a good finish though, so if you're trying to tart the bike up you might do more harm than good...

Possibly a few thick coats of hammerite, leave to harden properly then sand the brush marks out and polish it up would look ok, I'm thinking of doing a frame like this, but I don't expect it to be a looker, just trying to stop the rust Embarassed

id be using the rattle can spray on hammerite rather than the brush on version. Ive used it before for various bits (non bike related) and the finish has been fine but wondered if its a tough enough finish more than how it would look.

Why not just rub them down to the bare metal and give them a few coats of clear lacquer from Halfords. Looks better than crappy paint. I used the hammerite on heel plates too and it just flaked...

ive used hammerite on forks and frame

i used the brush on stuff and thinned it down and shot it from my spray gun the only problem i found is you have to give it loads of coats to make it hard wearing but the finish can be as good as a rattle can if you do it right

also give it good time to harden the can will say its ok in 24 hours or so but if you have the time leave it for around 4 days or more as it seems to go more hard wearing the longer you leave it Very Happy
