Good day to all.
Just got back from sunny Zante in Greece and to say i'm shocked at the ridding is an understatement. There must be 10 scooters to one car.
Most shocking to see for me were
1, No helmets ( to be expected).
2, no clothing and I mean no clothing.
3, smoking while riding.
4, drinking bottles of beer while riding.
5, on their phones while riding.
Thats just a few of the things I can remember.
The best bit was a topless bird on a stripped down ninja.
As this was my first trip to a different country and I have not encountered this sort of thing before.
is this the normal to see in other countrys?
Regards

Spain seems about the same. Italy has to be the worst, theres loads of scoots and worst of all they are aloud to use the pavement to get through traffic . ____________________

Turkey is pretty bad, but it's mainly the taxi drivers over there, they'll undertake, overtake or ram you off the road if it means getting their passengers to their destination quicker!
Scariest moment: Getting overtaken on a blind corner with a several hundred foot cliff on the outside.
Sod that...
Portugal is similar, but they have about six people to a moped and also tow trailers with them, now that was a strange sight. Guy on moped, pulling trailer/cart of fruit and veg to market. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

Not all of the pavement, there's a section for bikes.
I like seeing when there's 3 on on ped and they're all quite hapily drinking, smoking or rattling away
I had a great laugh when we rented scooters in Greece ____________________ Back on a Blade. Just feels so right. |

Morocco had some sights to see with regards to scooter riding....
Car driving through Marakesch was frightening enough, more like going on bumber cars at the fair (literally, no realy lane sense people use their vehicles as barging devices!), but weaving in between this chaos are really old peds (ones that have pedals) with entire families and their produce balanced precariously on them.
We saw one that was supporting what looked like and entire mint bush and a large sack of rice, the father (in control) with his son balanced on his lap in front, and mother sitting behind carrying a baby and another toddler
Of course, they don't wear any kind of protective clothing, unless you class jalabas (full length smocks with hoods) as a suitable garment. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!
