Seriously I thought this was a joke posting on another site, precis is quoted directly from the article, but what the hell how on earth can they justify that?!

The absolute irony is , if you are convicted of a crime but then acquitted or exhonerated , YOU have to pay the government money back to cover your room and board!, which is even more ridiculous!
