Evidence is growing that Ducati will reveal a road-going version of its V4 MotoGP bike at this weekend’s World Ducati Weekend in Italy.

Our picture here is a computer-generation based on inside insight. You can be sure as soon as it’s confirmed we’ll bring you pictures of the finished bike and full details. Ducati is planning to reveal ‘a major new bike’ at 7pm on Saturday.

Hmmm. Very interesting. If its true then I can see it putting a fair old dent in R1 and Fireblade sales. But then it would also pretty much kill the 999 so I'm not sure if it is true. Well shall see.

if they do it, I can see it being well out of the 999 price sector, not to mention the R1/blade. how much was an R7? 20 odd grand? perhaps a limited run/internet auction deal again like the MH900

Hi

If it is that ugly then even the sales of the 999 will be safe.

On the other hand a production bike would probably have front and rear wheels that matched, a rear numberplate holder and is unlikely to have a carbon swinging arm (structural carbon is very expensive and time consuming to make or the very expensive usd forks with the seperate gas reserviors.

MCN let the trainee at Photoshop I think.

All the best

Keith

yeah but it's a V4. Ever ridden a VFR800. I dream of the day I can own a proper sports V4 (apart from an RC30) It will be amazing. Shame it's a duke tho. I'd rather it was a jap bike. It'd still be working by NEXT Crimbo Very Happy

Yes Summy. Well - for the 999 anyway, I'd not heard about them fitting the F4.

Yup you're right Summy - QB Carbon do one for the 748/916/996/998 bikes but they don't have it listed for the 749/999 bikes or the MV F4 though at the NEC a few years back they had an endurance racer with it on (yellow bike, twin filler cap on the fuel tank if anyone remembers?) in the bottom picture.

Mark2 MotoGP 998 left Mark1 MotoGP 998 2 on the right

QB MV Racer

QB have done a 999 special though which looks like a mix of the MotoGP bike and the 999 roadbike.

None of them look that good, neither does a 998 or 999 for that matter. Confused
