Four things..
1. 50cc is still 50cc more than a push bike!
2. Everyone starts somewhere, just read the highway code several times untill your sick of it, then a bit more (have a look in my sig for some usefull tips, mainly for biger bikes but 99% applys).
3. Don't forget how responsible you are for your on-road conduct, falling off at 30 can still kill you or somebody else, or land you in court.
4. Enjoy new found freedom!  ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I'm joining you in the 'poor people' club! I'm sure you're not alone and there are plenty other non-bike people!
I just looked up the bike you mention, I don't know much about it but it looks nice for a 50cc |

i actually ownded a gpr for 14 months, was the 94 model youichi yi rep, reg AE 51, now the proud property of carnislick off 125ccsbf. Did me proud, as for tuning em up, i wouldnt... for one thing its got more then enough omf to get you killed, specially if you ride it well (ie hard, not that im big headed but i wrangled all 9 brake out of the little beast). Very powerful first, or rather the engine breaking is bloody impressive not to mention the lock up potential if it all goes pete tong (gear lever was abit off for a while, knocked down from 2nd to 1st rather then 3rd when accelerating hard on a wet day, cue long skid, tankslapper and amused onlookers.
Erm handles and brakes like a dream, better then alot of bigger bikes, very very precise and lot of feel (on both counts) very light and flickable, chicks diggit and not to mention you can out accelerate most family cars, and out handle most born again bikers through traffic (the robbie williams concert was a godsend 50mph filtering through stationary traffic for almost 3 days straight...
and point two, two strokes go bang far too easily anyhew, dont tempt fate. Altho that said you should def get an aftermarket exhaust, will beef everything, altho i warn you at 16 and alledgedly restricted your slightly suspicios at 70 odd, and plod will make comments.
Also for the test, altho they are great fun and will get you good at gears braking etc etc, they make you an aggressive rider generally, all 50 race reps do, so expect two days of being told your a loon and to stop at junctions, stop tailgating etc etc. But i passed first time so all good rant over ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

The GPR has MUCH potential to be tuned. A malossi MHR 80cc cylinder, nice big carb, Metrakit clutch, Metrakit pro race pipe, it'll be putting out about 19bhp.
As for 2t's going bang, its all down to how they're used and looked after. If the carb is perfect, you should have a long lived engine.
And as for the new GPR and old GPR, i much prefer the old one as it looks more like the motogp style, rather than a superbike (i prefer GP bikes)
[Off topic] Have you heard of the new GPR250 which is soon to be released? Its said to be the most powerful 2t 250cc and a replacement for the discontinued RS250. (Also being released as a 4t though) [/off topic] ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

Have you seen the new 250cc bike derbi are planning on building? They trying to make a 2-stroke but if it doesn't pass emission tests, they have a 4-stroke being developed, looks very good.

oooh yes i gotta get me one of those. As for NS keiths comments, my point is it aint worth doing cos they are pains on the arse to work on, they regularly do crazy random things, tuning (carbs jetting etc) is very very erm... well just no. Besides the lad has said hes only gonna have it 5 months. There is no point really.
But yeh i now want that derbi 250.... *drool* If its anything like the gpr (seems the same chassis and swinger) it would be amazing. I hope they make it. I shall have to start a savings fund... Must repost in the 'if i had 8500 to spend on bikes' topic from rs 250 for about 3 grand, tuning for 2 grand and save the rest for the rebuilds... well looks like spend 5 grand on the gpr 250, dont tune it, and save the rest for rebuilds lol (me dont trust two strokes much) ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
