I think it looks really shit. I'd rather let my bonnet get stone chipped to high hell, then repair/replace it when I come to sell it.
There's a Beetle, an E36 and a Civic I see regularly in my area that 'wear' them. I literally cringe everytime I see them.

Oh look, another bootful of 'wikkid ICE' - filling up the boot on your 1.2 shopping trolley, making it unusable for the purpose it was originally designed for (pootling around to the shops, it is not a race car, it is a fiesta/corsa etc etc).

They don't do that because they want there cars to look like race cars 
Its a whole different scene, a whole different part of car modding.
They do it to make there cars look good, not fast.
Its appearence over practicality. They maybe want there boots full of ICE instead of there shopping. They maybe want there cars low with big wheels and really low bodykits. None of that is there to make the car faster, its all there for appearence.
So like half-lyfe said, why do you have a sports bike? Its not like your gonna race it, its there for appearence.
Why would you have a standard Golf, when you could make it look unqiue, put your stamp on it.
That was just plain ignorant, you have just overlooked the main purpose of this type of modding.

No, you're confusing race and road bikes.
I do 'race' everywhere (outside of 30, 40 & 50 limits). 
All that aside, i've not taken a C90, covered it in tat and baubels and then tried to convince myself (and others) that i actually have a '98 R1.
Using the same example of the C90, i've not covered the c90 in so much tat and baubels that i can't actually use it for the purpose for which it was designed (i.e. delivering pizzas etc).
That, in essence, is the nature of the modified car scene. You can spray as much glitter onto a turd as you like, you will always just have a spangly turd. |

Its all appearence, they aren't trying to make it anything. That Corsa isn't there to look like a Audi RS4 is it?
The carbon fibre isn't there to make the car lighter, its there to look good. The cars full of other stuff that would weight it down and make the car slower. If it was a 'Race Car' it wouldn't have anything, would it?
So bassically   because nobody cares what you think

so what car do you buy if you want to make it look pretty and have a nice stero in?
With bikes if you want a fast bike you can buy one, because there cheap, whereas with cars, if you want a nice stero, you have to make do with a shitty car.
Ask any of the people who own them cars what car they want, i fucking gurantee it wont be, 'ford focus' ...its that all they can afford is a ford focus.
