Anyone know anything about 4LO 350 LC's?

Hello,

I'm hoping BlueX5 and others may reply to this. I've been offered a slightly ratty black and red 350 LC. Cosmetically its pretty good, but it has seized front brake calipers (I've probably got some that will fit if they are not rescuable) a slightly ropey rear shock and a cracked rear brake drum. The seller has a spare set of wheels which are the wrong colour, but it would be a small matter to get them powdercoated black or paint and detail them. He also has a new rear shock which he hasn't fitted. It has no V5 and currently has no registered keeper but it would be no issue to apply for the v5. (I trust the seller and believe what he says about this)

What do people think? How much should I pay?

Hi

I suspect it comes down to condition. Eg, does it have the stock unbutchered rear mudguard (very difficult to find, along with other bits that people want for bikes to keep). Sounds like there isn't really any major bits required as a fun bike. Front brakes should be easy to sort out.

I think its got stuff like an intact centrestand, unbutchered mudguard etc, but I would need to check.

what condition is the engine in?

If that needs major work it could cost a lot of money to get done, My RGV is having an engine reconditioned at a cost of about £600

RGV's are complicated. LC's are simple.

I've just finished rebuilding my 350 powervalve engine and it was simple. The hardest part was the powervalves themselves which do not appear on the 350 LC.

I had an RGV myself for three years, and it was a hassle. The 350 will be a dream to work on in comparison. Apparently this bike runs but is a little 'rattly' so a top ender would probably freshen it up.

I paid £450 for my RGV engine to be rebuilt, including a crank rebuild. I did dismantle the top end though... and I removed and refitted the engine myself.

Thats fair enough then mate, as long as you know whats involved then all is good. The cost of piston kits and replating cylinders can quickly mount up though.

The price for mine is including new powervalves as well Cool Thumbs Up

My RGV had Aprilia RS250 powervalves which have less problems than RGV items.

The 350LC and YPVS cylinders are not plated so I don't have to worry about that.
