It was a little wet out today and while I was riding there were so many spots of spilt fuel or something it was like rainbow after rainbow Might be a bit of a silly question but what should you do when you see one? well apart from trying to avoid it I'm talking about mainly low speeds, built up areas and stuff. ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

Unless it is a massive massive oil slick just ride normally and try not to turn over it , the massive one I encountered in Walshaw that went on for miles and covered both lanes of the road was tricky.
In that oil on the road and manhole covers are overegged massively in that they are only seriously dangerous if you are cornering fast and heavily leant over or panic.
Even so if you are leant over and hit a man hole cover or diesel because it is a limited patch of space your tyre will slip but will regain traction immediately after you are off the spot.
Cornish riders will attest that on the A38 I forget if its on the way to Bodmin or Falmouth on the way towards Plymouth there is a bit where there is a man hole in the middle of the lane.
If its a big slick or a telephone type man hole which is 3 metres by 1 metre across (which I can skid a civic on) then its dangerous. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
