Hi

Having a little trouble with indicators. At first, the rear right indicator wasn't flashing except when tapped with a screwdriver (The front right indicator would flash very fast). Took it to a garage and they thought it was a bad connection between the bulb and housing.

They replaced both rear mini indicators with standard ones.

The same issue now occurs, can't guarantee it flashes. Also last night, when i turned it on, the front left indicator stopped flashing, and and rear left was going very fast.

These issues seem to sometimes sort themselves out after riding for 10-20 minutes, sometimes not.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that engine will still stall after having the choke on for 5 mins, and only idles happily after having driven it down the road?

Any advice grreatly appreciated as always Smile

first off. letting the bike run on choke for 5mins is bad for your plugs. change your plugs. as the saying goes 75% of 'carberation' problems are ignition related. change you plugs because the disposible items anyway. if that doesnt cure it, i would see if the carbs need a good clean and a balance. if the bike doesnt idle very well then the mixture is incorrect. it should idle and around 1000 - 1200 rpm i would imagine.
as for youe indicators i would check the connections. but normally i have found that if one indicator is not connected properly then the other one will not flash. i would check the connections around the flasher unit at a guess but im not the best with electrics. im sure sum1 else on here could help you with that.

thanks veze

I'll check out the connections again tomorrow, but they seemed to be ok.

The bike idles well just over 1k rpm once its been down the road, just cuts out while still, when i start it in the morning. I'll look at replacing the plugs, doesnt seem expensive/too hard from what i've read.

It's the indicators that worry me at the moment, as i can't rely that they will be working on the road. If i cant sort it, i'll take it down the garage this w/end.

Thanks again

just make sure when you change your plugs that u put the h/t leads back on the plugs they came off, either label them with masking tape numberd 1,2,3,4 from left to right, or do what i do and just change one plug after the other then you cant get them mixed up. let me know how you get on mate.

Indicators seem to have sorted themselves out, after checking all the connections (so far so good)

Good tip on the spark plugs - did them one at a time, and they actually look in pretty condition. However when i got to the last one, the cable came apart, where it meets the rubber casing, with hardly any pulling at all. Inside it's corroded, with blue residue...

I stuffed it back in, and still starts but i guess this is a replacement needed.

thanks for the help
