My stupid f-ing spots . .

I HATE having spots, i just cant get rid.
I use all the good face washes, i have bought really good tea tree oils, i open up all my "pores" etc etc.
I have a healthy diet, very rarely drink alcohol.
Tried so many things . . I have got them all gone vertually before now !, but they come back horrrid !.
It makes you feel rank ! i am abit of a hygeeeeeen freak and hate feeling rancid. I never pick them etc so when they go i will not have any scares and stuff so i will have a nice face

Is there anybody who had or has spots that has any goood remidies.
Because there pissing me off !

I would forget asking BCF and go to your doctor, they should be able to advise you on what to do.

Fair enough asking without posting pictures, but your just asking for it posting up pictures of yourself and your spots. I don't mean to sound harsh, hope you get it sorted.

Looking at your pics, I can hazard a guess that you are currently sitting at your computer reading this with your elbow on your desk, and have your hand on your cheek.

1) Stop leaning your face on your hands, make sure you wash your hands regularly.

2) Wash with this twice a day. (product from Lush and is amazing stuff).

Your doctor will first advise a change of diet, then advise on hygience procedures, finally you might get some drugs, and they probably won't work, then they may prescribe different ones.... and you can continue on this loop as long as you can tolerate it.

I get really bad spots on my back and neck, have ever since 15, dad has them as well, and so does brother to a lesser degree. Sometimes they are so painful, I cannot lean on anything with my back, or lie on them.

I've been to several doctors, had several courses of different treatments, antibiotics, advice on changing diets, changing soaps/shower gels. Done it all. It all amounts to nowt.

It has been said on more than one occasion that washing too much can be as equal a cause as washing too little (I shower daily). In short, spots are another mystery that no one has a real fucking clue about, but will gladly charge you the earth for "miracle" products, its just a case of finding something that works for you, and hoping your body gives up the fight.

Tell him something along the lines of it's making your life hell, you can't cope in public anymore, you feel people don't take you seriously blah blah don't overdo it now, you're after a drug called Roaccutane, not Prozac!

Anyways, this should get you referred to a dermatologist, who will probably start you off on tretinoin gel. IF this doesn't work expect to be put on Roaccutane, and more than likely thou shalt be sorted. Unless you fall victim to some of the more undersirable side-effects, in which case you may well need that Prozac after all!!

Been there, I found Clearasil Ultra to work doing it 2/3 times a day, I was told to try pile cream but I could never be assed, didn't seem my cup of tea. HTH.

Personally I believe that only time will help.

I had acne as a teenager, from the age of around 14 to 20, nothing I ever did or was given did any good. They slowly just get less prevalent.

I still get the odd spot now (as in I will always have at least one on my body) and I'm 29.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but that's the way I see it.

There was a show on BBC2 earlier this week (Monday I think) "Grow Your Own Drugs" - the alternative therapy kinds. One of the medicines they made was for acne, it may be worth having a look on iPlayer (it was the flowers episode) and having a go as the remedies they made can be made in your own kitchen for a couple of £.

What ghostrider says is right.

Go to your doctors tell them you have tried changing face washes, changed your diet etc.

They will put you on a multitude of antibiotics, once these help for a while and then stop working. They will refer you to a skin specialist, who will put you on another drug for a while. Once all of this hasn't worked they will put your on Roaccutane (after a couple of blood tests). Once you're on these and haven't committed suicide you should be relatively spot free for the rest of your life.

I still get the odd ones more so in winter (less sun light). I didn't get many of the side affects from the Roaccutane though, just the dry lips & skin occasional a sore back from over exercise.

I was put on tablets called Minocin MR and they were really good at getting rid of the spots, but like a few people have said get on the sunbeds that really does dry them up and get rid of them!!!
