You may have heard about the crash in redditch on the news.

My boyfriend used to be good mates with him and through another friend we have learnt that the 23 year old lad unfortunately only had himself to blame. He was riding along ravensbank drive (a road in an estate, 30 mph limit) at about 140 mph and lost control.
apparently, the impact of hitting the road at such a speed killed him outright.

Isn't it always a sorry story when accidents like these can easily be avoided. If only he'd have saved the speed for a duel carriageway or something. condolences to the family!

I think he was all kitted out, we are not sure if it was the cause of death, there may be another reason but his friend was following him so I feel sorry for his mate too.

Condolences to his family, but that is an idiotic thing to do, especially in an estate. Not going to do anything for the reputation of bikers is it?

What a fool Crying or Very sad

I do agree with you, whenever the riders at fault the government start talking about how many bike crashes there are and how they are going to devise new schemes. They fall to mention how many bike accidents are a result of car drivers and other road users, and you just know these 'schemes' are going to cost the riders who are more careful. bloody government want money left, right and centre, but where the hell does it go!

Shocked

A trackday is better than the dual carriageway...don't you think?

Sorry to hear of the loss

I think if you fall off at 140mph in an estate you're bound to hit some street furniture at high speed so you've got pretty much no chance.

Condolences to his family, but no-one can deny it's stupid to do high speeds in housing estates. Sad
