It's not clean when you still have road residue on your downpipes/link pipe!

Chamois it!

Rear wheel - get paraffin mixed with car shampoo and degrease it! I can still see dirt on your rear tyre!

Front wheel! You say THAT's clean!?

Seriously, not trying to undermine your efforts but how LONG did you spend cleaning your bike? I can do a better job in 15 mins after my lectures!

Craig will be suffering a stroke if he sees this!

While we are nitpicking, get rid of those anodised footpegs and get your wheels powdercoated white or maybe yellow would look nice.

clean bikes are faggy.

thats a proper bike, it gets ridden. no point wasting your time cleaning when its just going to get dirty again.

Why did you bother trying to clean it then? Wink Laughing

Cleaning bikes is satisfying, especially when you start with a really really dirty bike.

Mechanical husbandry is worrying! After seeing this, i spent 20 mins cleaning my bike and it's certainly made me feel a lot better! That said, it'll probably piss it down tonight!

Besides, cleaning your bike often will ensure that the next time you clean it, it'll look cleaner with minimal effort.

10-20 mins is all it takes.. That said, a light coloured bike will be difficult to clean because dirt will look more evident.

Anyway here are some good tips

Cheap degreaser = paraffin + car shampoo mixed in a 40%:60% ratio. Use it to clean chain lube and brake dust from your wheels.

It's good for cleaning body work too. Just remember to rinse off with water and chamois.

Make sure that you clean your stanchions properly - pitting is difficult to stop once it's started!

I implore you to listen to this man Titz.

I missed out on probably the greatest bike ride I could have ever experienced because I didn't leave my house until 11am.

If only I hadn't cleaned my XR after a week's use, plus check that the chain, electrics, oil level, tyre pressures and cables didn't require servicing, that bike ride I had today could have been so, so much better.

Well, you gotta be proud of having a spotless bike? It's a bit of a shame really though Sad That extra 20 minutes required to clean it will go totally unnoticed when you're going twice as fast to make up for lost time Wink Razz

Its all about the image baby.

Roll up on a clean ass spotless bike, then have people call you a poser only to be destroyed by you in every way. Cool Mr. Green

Yeah fo sho!

They see a poser asian kid - alpinestarred to the hilt, oakleys, lipring and a bandana smoking a fag.. then see them getting duffed up in the corners cos i ride as smooth as silk.. Thumbs Up Laughing

Sorry to hijack this thread lol!

Went out with HurricaneHollis today - his main annoyance with me was that i don't brake for corners (engine braking) and ping it out once i see the exit! Wink

This reminds me ... it is time for my pre-summer deep clean.
(assorted parts removed / fairing / wheels / exaust / all plastics etc .... then set about it with a toothbrush .... then acf50 the lot)

I shall post exciting pictures after I have finished the job. Rolling Eyes

But here is an example of my past work:

I miss the build and easy clean nature of my R6.

Why couldn't Honda squeeze an undertray into my CBR, or use proper bolts, or make the thing easier to disassemble.

Grrrrrr.
