this is psg1's from zx10r.co.uk, it's so big he had to reinforce the bracket.

slogan says "size matters for short sighted officers"

It's also illegal as it's the wrong size and is going to attract more attention than a slightly small one.

Is there a maximum size for plates? A quick google suggests minimum sizes for lettering and spacing etc, but don't see any stuff about maximum or indeed minimum sizes for the plates themselves.

"Is this number plate taking the piss?" No more than the last one, how did that work out for you?

On a lighter note if we can agree that to a certain degree our bikes reflect our personalities it is a source of some concern to me that you keep posting photos of the arse end of your bike on the web.

I saw one a similar size a few years ago that had www.*(insert the coppers name here)*.co.uk. It wouldn't have meant much to many people buy I lived next door to the copper who's name was on the plate and he is a bike hating cnut.

he used to inspect my bikes and cars on my driveway to make sure the tyres were legal etc Evil or Very Mad

its to stop the rider speeding.
above a certain speed the rear wheel lifts off the road and you have to slow down.
it will become standard for road bikes soon. Smile

It'll be the first time a Copper's said :-

'Get a smaller number plate, Son!'.

'Oh, and by the way, heres a producer and get a new MOT to prove it's been done!'

I had this a few years ago for 'incorrectly spaced letters' on a private reg. Cost me near enough 50-odd quid in the end.

The plate itself maybe not but there is a set size for lettering.

Now that's the type of info that gets me in trouble! If I am pulled I will look at there plates now and if there is no legal markings on it I feel obliged to point it out to them. . . . . . . It's only fair. Mr. Green

I did read once that there isn't a legal sized number plate on any car in the UK and they are all a couple of mm too small.

I'm not sure what truth there is in it but it could be a good one to try if you get pulled for a small plate.

I'll get the tape out tomorrow and check mine. Wink
