Hey all im looking at buying another bike soon and have been thinking of alot of bikes recently, i have been looking at the r6, gixer 600 and the older 900rr fireblade, and also the r1's but dont think thats the bike for me, so out of the ones i have said what are the pro's and cons i know i may well get some biased answers but just wanting to know, i am looking for a good fast bike which i know they all are, good on corners, a good reliable bike, and easy for my small 5ft 8 statur to stand on, i have sat on the fireblade and have to say i like it alot, may go to my dealer and ask for a test ride next week. any help greatly appriciated. ____________________ Will b- Sv650s sport K6 in napolean blue and loving it -https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/EscortBoy1/jackson.gif |

Its got 26k on clock and lots of history and is in really good condition, is a 1997 model rr and is up for 2300 and i reckon i can even knock him down further in the current market and with no trade in!!
what you think?? ____________________ Will b- Sv650s sport K6 in napolean blue and loving it -https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/EscortBoy1/jackson.gif |

If your budget can extend to a 00 929RRY/RR1 blade, it's arguably the best bike I've ridden. Build quality is still good - newer blades have had problems with corrosion in critical areas (sump for instance).
I can't speak for your model fireblade though, but the bike is very light, composed and has more than enough power and torque to dish out top gear roll ons on the motorway before you're doing silly speeds.
The millennium blade might not have had the fame and glory of the early foxeyes, BUT without it, you won't get the blade you have today. USD's, 17" front wheels, Fuel injection (yeah it might be glitchy, but you won't notice it whilst on the move). That said, the underseat storage is cavernous enough for almost anything you want - i've got a full halfords toolkit + WD40, couple of locks and a bike cover/waterproofs with some room to spare.
Handlingwise, it's nimble but stable; tracks any given line you so wish and sticks to it. 954's are more agile, but then again they're more expensive. Brakes are solid on it and the engine is predictable. It's a very good, very fast road bike - better than my old ZX6R.
I got mine for 2150 so it goes to show you that bargains can be had on newer blades. An R1 would have been nice BUT for the blade is more suited for the road. It's effectively a 600cc bike with a 900cc engine and i treat it like that - chassis is a beaut and the large size makes long distances comfortable.
Don't get me wrong, 600cc's is more than enough to commute and have fun with, but in instances where you want to just pile on the power, the blade has that in reserve. Fuel consumption on the FI blade is about 130 miles til reserve light (18l tank - so 14.5 litres to do 130 miles) doing 90mph down the motorway. 2up/town work or spirited rides will see 100-110 before you hit the reserve.
CBR929RR was listed in PB's top 100 bikes ... I think the 954 should be up there too because it's a better, refined blade, but it's still expensive. Like Craig said, shop around, you'll be able to get a 929 ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
