I have seen quite a few of them about. I'd say a lot of it could be to do with it being called CBR. I bet if it was called PRJ125 no-one would have one.

Hi

I have seen a few around, and if that many have those Micron cans at £300 each then maybe I should buy some shares .

It is a cheap new 125 which looks sporting. Basically Honda have built a 125 in the same way they did 15~20 years ago. Cheap, with lots of corners cut compared to larger bikes. Many people would pay more for a bike, but how much is a good question.

For example when new the original AF1 was around £2400 while a TZR125 with the optional full fairing was around £1600, so about 50% more. The price difference has gone up, and I suspect not many more people can afford the extra.

Also doesn't help that there seems to be a large shortage of cheap but half decent second hand 125s.

Two of my mates own CBR125's, and I have to say that they're nippy little things. They sound decent for 125's, and when you get used to the fact that they look like a pencil on wheels, they don't look that bad.

They're easier to wheelie than NSRs, and easier to do burnouts on too Stacks of underseat storage space too. The only build quality problem is they seem to suffer from weak brake lever/pedals, which bend easily when you crash the damn buggers.

i think there trying to bridge the border between a Mopeds and Racebikes not alot of people can offord the super high prices and upkeep prices.
i rekon in about a year or 2 ull see more Cbr125s on the road than gilera runners and will probably also think there on a ZX12 rather than a cg with fairins.

now i used to drive a moped and i drove it senible its the 90% of other who drive them like its a zx12
i now have a de-restricted RS and drive it the same as my ped just with a higher top speed alothough i suppose the bike counter-acts the ped and EVERYONE wants to race RS's

although its super funny to overtake a ped whos trying so hard to beat the RS

There a few around here, the reason most of them bought one is because of the price. For the price of a 3 year old RS125 they could have a new cbr125.

They are nowhere near as fast as a rs though.

the reason i bought the Rs it because of the size of the bike
the fat rear tyre and the sound
i could have bought a CBR125 but NObody would turn and look rather turn and laugh at the tyre size and half size superbike

although it may sound better, because it a 4-stroke. its not exactly fast more like a CG with fairin or a ped with gears

The reason I bought a RS is because it goes 100. Although the cbr is cheap I wouldn't have bought one over a RS, they just aint fast enough.

I would rather see more CBR125's on the road than scooters. I recon that someone who owns a CBR over a scooter is more likely to buy a "real bike*" when they want to progress their riding, which can only be a good thing IMO.

*When I say real bike I do not mean to offend any 125 riders, I am mearly using the term that has been banded about in the past to refer to the next stage in the riding lifecycle, I thank hugh.

I think the CBR125 is a good bike for the money. I looked at one when I was buying my 125. I opted for a second hand Honda Varadero 125 as the size of the CBR125 was just too small for me.

as 398cc (steve) said there are 3 at college mine is one of them. its a good little bike for someone who is learning on a bike with gears for the first time. wouldnt you choose one over a ped? The bike is a good price as well at £2349 otr compared to a Sachs XTC which looks very nice but is one and a half grand more. Its also about the same speed as the cbr 125.

I've seen quite a few at work, (I work in a JS petrol Station.) Dont think i've seen anyone under 35 get off of one! Its all older people riding them round lincoln.
