Instrument cluster bulbs

I've bought the bulbs to replace the instrument cluster lights on suzuki bandit 600f. Just wondering if there are any tips, like 'watch out for the spring that'll fly across the garage when you remove the casing' type tips to save my sanity. Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Buy some silicone and such like HT type , in that sometimes they just don't fit properly and you can bodge it by putting the bulb into the holder then squirting a bit of silicone on it to hold it in place.

Cheers, are they easy to get to ? it's typical my MOT is due and 2 weeks before both the tacho and speedo lights go then the headlight... worrying now there's an electrical problem, hoping it's just a coincidence. Confused

It looks as if it is just a case of taking the covers out , pulling the bulbs out (held in by rubbers) replacing the bulbs and putting them back in again, Remember to test the bulbs before you re-assemble it!. As it is a serious headache to have to take it apart again.

If I managed it on my NTV (2 hex head bolts 8 phillips type screws) and 2 smaller phillips type screws inside the clocks and could do it in a petrol station in remote cornwall I reckon you can too (I used tape to hold the non fitting bulbs till I got home to silicone them).

Thanks again Itchy, I don't know why I worry so much about doing stuff to the bike, generally I'm pretty competant at replacing parts in things when they go wrong, I can strip a pc to bits and fault find but when it comes to bikes I'm convinced I'll undo a bolt and bits will fly everywhere and I'll never be able re-assemble it.
