Hey I'm trying to help my mate with his chain tensioning on his zzr600.

I'm a bit confused as there doesn't appear to be a tension nut as well as a lock nut;

https://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g123/ncrn/17032009059.jpg?t=1237303023

Sorry its a bit blurry. I've tried turning the lone nut that is there clockwise but to no effect it can't be turned. So how am I supposed to tension the chain??

Thanks.

Have you loosened the main axle nut?

What do you mean it won't turn. Spanner slip or does it just spin on the spot or what?

Yeah axle is loosened off, and basically you try to turn it clockwise and the nut just stops, its like its been fully tightened but there is loads of travel in the chain left.

Take the nut off and see if you can see the rest of the thread,it may be corroded or the axle is stuck.

Hi

The nut is just a lock nut. The threaded part is the adjuster. You need a small spanner that fits on the square bit at the end (once you have slackened off the lock nut).

All the best
