I was going to stick it in Bike Pictures. But I only took one picture. Laughing
So I thought Bike chat would be better.

Decided to go out for a little hoon a couple of hours ago. I forgot that I'd already gone onto my reserve tank yesterday though. And I only got to the end of the street before I ran out of petrol.

So I rang a mate who also has a road legal Pit bike, Who came and met me with some petrol. He didn't know where I was so I pushed my bike to a car park near by. "Luton Rec Car park" for anybody interested.

Rather than push it on the road (No foot path), I push it on the dirt path on the recreational field, Just on the other side of a fence to the road.
I must of pushed it 100 meters, And a police car passed me. Then stopped the car further up the road where there was a gap in the fence. And waited for me with his colleague.

I KNEW exactly what was coming, So I just approached them (had no choice anyway, they were waiting on the path). And stopped.

INSTANTLY, the started checking the bike. One touched the engine to see if I had been riding it. They thought I'd been riding it around on the field. Laughing

I took my lid off, And one of them knew me, But his colleague was more interested in making sure the bike was insured etc. So he put the reg through to their Control center, Asked me my insurance etc. When it came back all clear, They let me go, giving me a "stopped and spoken to" form as a souvenir.

I pushed my bike to the car park, Met my mate Tom, who was on a 125 pit bike. He brought along a mate who was on a TM125 (2 stroke crosser thing), Which had been made road legal.

Had a ride up through town to Tom's house, Had a chat with the TM owner. He was telling me some really interesting stuff about it actually.

"It pisses on DT125s, DTs have Power valves, But this doesn't have valves, Its got Power bands instead, etc etc...".

Doh!

I didn't even bother to argue, I just smiled and agreed with him. Laughing

I then left the two of them, went for a bit of a ride. Stopped off at work on the way to adjust my chain. As I pulled out of my work, And along past the high street, I could hear a 2 stroke behind me. It was some Rude boi on a DT125. So I opened the pit up a bit, Couldn't shake it off until the twisty parts on the road.

Started slowing down for the lights, DT rider came flying up my inside, Fucking prick.

As the lights went Amber, The DT pinned it, Funnily enough I shat on him. Think he was a little gob smacked as I past him trying to keep the front wheel down as I let the clutch out into second.

Pulled into a local petrol garage because I was still running on the £2 of petrol Tom brought down in a bottle for me.

On the pump next to mine was a Cop car. Empty, The cops were in the station paying up. I managed to squeeze £1.36 into my tank, Not quite enough to top the Minimum vend of 2 Liters.

I entered the station to pay, Both coppers walked back out and STRAIGHT over to my bike. Gah!

The Cashier in the station had a moan that I didnt put enough petrol in. I said thats all it takes etc.

Walked back to my bike and got...

"You didn't ride this in here did you?"

I replied "Yea, Why?"

Cop - "Its not road legal is it?"

Me - "It is".

Cop - "Wheres the reg plate then ay?"

I kind of grinned and pointed to it. Coppers made a bit of a fuss over it, Started checking it to see if it was legal etc. I really couldnt be bothered to wait for him to do a Vehicle check as it takes ages. So I pulled the bit of paper out which the previous copper gave me and said...

"Its already been checked mate, about an hour ago". And showed him the paper.

Had a little chat and managed to get myself out of the shit with a slap on the wrists.

As I was putting my lid on, An Off road pit bike with 2 people on it came screaming into the garage to put air in their tyres. LOL!

At this point I thought "Fuck it". And just made my way home.

I only use the bike for commutes to and from work. The one nice day I decide to hoon around on my day off. I get pulled twice, By unfamiliar coppers.

Anyway, Heres a shitty picture...

And here's my souvenir.

Just been pissing around with photoshop and come up with this.

First go at HDR.

What makes a good HDR image? I dont really understand what its all about.

Haha i used to live in Luton as my dad lives there, stopped up at Wigmore park eh?
Did you fuel up at the station near the airport on the steep hill?
They take so long in there, and theres always a queue of about 5-6 people.

Gutting you got stopped, but they never seem to stop all the corsa's up stopsley at the shops trying to do donuts.

Its alot bigger than you'd think. Its classed as a Mid-size bike.

A pit bike would be a bike based on a CRF50 fiddy bike.
Mines based around a KLX110. I'm taking delivery of a new frame tomorrow. Smile

Twin tube cradle frame. Getting it powder coated white.

If you haven't tried full-size off-roading, I'd give that a go, much more fun to my mind.

I prefer the idea of pit bikes (especially the slightly more sensibly sized ones) on the road.

Oh and for a 'proper' HDR you should really have three photos taken with auto exposure bracketing, I believe.

Well on the plus side, at least the coppers are thorough...as in they checked you and the bike out properly...which is pretty decent considering so many peeps complain their bikes have been nicked and noone seems to be doing anything about it!!

In Luton, it seems they are bang on Thumbs Up .

... I guess it's more about subtlety! Everybody's been having a dig at my recent attempts cos they were stupidly overdone. Get a good camera with a very good CCD sensor. Most modern cameras actually allow for auto bracketing so it captures the images at 3 different exposures; mine unfortunately doesn't.

That said, the higher the resolution, the better the results since even at the smoothest settings for light smoothing, you can see the subtle differences. The poor HDR images I took were on a K800i so i masked the poor colour range with diffuse glow and rough light smoothing.

But what do i know eh? That said, my latest ones from the cam taken at 12mp have turned out nicely, even the macro ones...

So don't really expect much from fone cams!

That said ben, don't you need a new engine for yer pit bike sinc you Half_lyfe'd it!? Razz

Are you sure the DT was trying? Confused

2-stroke 125 > 4-stroke 125

Unless the DT was restricted of course.

Lol about the Police though.

Erm, You do realise its got a YX150 race engine in it. Not a 125 motor?

And yes Titz, Snapped the crank today. Embarassed

Was proper gutting actually, I took the Hempstead road country lane way to Maidstone, And down Boxley Hill.
Along the way I caught up with a GPZ250. He saw me in his mirrors and it was game on. Had a bit of a mad moment up the lanes. He couldnt shake me off! Cool

Even when we were overtaking cars, the GPZ wasnt leaving me for dead. Okay it was pulling away, But I made all the overtakes with plenty of time to spare. And on the corners I was right on it again! Smile

Then he turned off, I got to the end of the lanes, Kicked it down into second and stepped the arse out into a roundabout. (Yes I can do that on the pit bike now). As I got back on the revs It sounded like it had hopped out of gear.

Limped it to the side of the road. Engine still running. Tried to get it into a gear. But nothing.

Closer inspection shows the end of the crank may have sheered off. The Oil spinner (Its a balance weight on the other end of the crank for the Flywheel) has sheered off, and caused havoc in the bottom end. The cog on the crank that meshes with the clutch basket and the oil pump seems to have self destructed. And now the kick start only operates the clutch. Its not making any contact with the crank anymore.

Gutted.

Never mind, I've just put an offer in on a YX160 engine. 18bhp as standard.

If I get it, It will be with me Tuesday. All fitted and running to ride to work on Wednesday.

It was origonally a "Masai DB 125 H". Which to be fair, was a crock of shit.
£2000 later and its a seriously high spec bike. Okay its small, But handling is spot on. And it really does get under estimated. The torque on it is unreal for what it is.

Fahd wrote:

Very sure.

He undertook me like a cunt. Then sat at the lights a good bikes length in front of me, Looking back, Revving it up like a cock.

Lights went green, His front wheel lifted, He was ducked down trying to be a bit more aero dynamic I suppose.

I gave it some, Short shifted into second or I'd of been on my arse behind the bike. And passed him, sitting on the tank, front wheel off the ground. He kept looking at me as I overtook him. Laughing

Got it up into 3rd and I was off.

By the time I got up to 4th gear the DT had caught up with me, and it was right up my arse. At this point I turned off into the petrol garage.
