Hi lads,

Just new here and plan to stick around Smile

I have a TDR 125 - was on it today and its moving grand but after a while it starts to lose power . I got it up to 105kms today which is about 63 mile an hour. Next thing you know it starts to slow down on its own . If you hold it constantly for a while you might be lucky for it to get back up to speed but not always. Sometimes you have to wait until you go down a gear and then it will be grand again for a while . This happens 2 to 3 times in a 10 mile journey.

Anyone have any ideas ? could this be the YPVS ?

Thanks very much for your time,
Dave

What's your temperature gauge saying when this happens? Is it getting close to the red?

your gonna laugh mate but the temp gauge doesnt work ; but it has a new gasket and head so the water is defo circulating . Would you say removing the thermostat would help ?

Thanks for your reply buddy,
Dave

No idea, but I would definitely look into getting whatever is wrong with the temperature gauge circuit fixed.

to be honest i bought the bike in a box to do it up as a project . I have pumped more money into it than i would have if i bought a second hand running machine . Now i also need a new back tyre so i wanted to keep the temperature gauge on hold until she's running the way she should be.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks,
Dave

It could be a whole host of things:

Arrow Powervalve stuck in the closed position
Arrow Overheating
Arrow Lack of 2 stroke oil
Arrow Carb needs cleaning

They have a catalytic converter inside the front pipe which can break down over time and result in a loss of pwer, either get a race pipe or if on a budget cut - gut - re-weld stock pipe.
