my nightmare week with a silver lining :D

I had my direct access course last week, was a tuesday to friday course with the test on midday friday.

Everything was going well until riding home on wednesday evening a cager decided to write off my CBF 125 by not bothering to stop and crushing me between their car and the car in front of me. I was stationary in traffic at the time and had not been filtering, so god knows how they managed to do it.. Three chavs stepped out the car - "oh shit". Yeah damn right. I didn't get an apology though. The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that when I was in the back of the ambulance giving my details to the police they were just playing and messing about with my bike on the side of the road. Anyway by some miracle I managed to walk away with no broken bones.

I was thinking of not bothering to finish the direct access course, but the thought of forking out another £500 to do it another time did not do down well with my bank account, so the next day I forced myself out of bed for another days painful training. By back was hurt pretty bad and my arms just felt like dead weights so going through the twisties was a bit of a challenge.

I was stressing about taking the test but in the end decided that there was not much to lose as if I turned up and failed, I would be in the same position as if i didn't bother turning up at all. I gave it a shot, passed, 5 minors

The silver lining: I don't have to bother about trying to sell my 125 to buy a bigger bike, and the insurance payout will be more than if I did.

P.S. I hate dealing with insurance companies. argh!!

Someone I know is selling their 2004 600cc Hornet, so I might go for that, but i'm still undecided at the moment! The CBR 600 rr is very appealing, I might take one out for a test ride.

Congrats on passing, especially after the week you've had!

The 600RR is a nice bike, i've had two and like them so am slightly biased.

Take it easy on the throttle until you've had 10-15 mins to at least get some heat in the tyres and move the throttle VERY gradually if its your first time on a 600 sports.

It'll crack 70Mph in 1st gear and doesnt take very long at all so a bit of care is required.
