What the hell do you do with a 250?

Before christmas my mom decided to she wanted to do her CBT so my pops brought her an old suzuki 250 so she could practice on car parks and such.
However, she went on the CBT and couldn't get the hang of it. Its not in terrible condition but its not fantastic either and who the hell would by a 250? Not learners and not those who've past the test.

The point I'm trying to make is that my dad doesn't want to lose money on it and so now we are racking brains to think what we could do with it....
..any ideas anyone?

Makes a nice step from a (automatic) 50, as I hadn't riden a 125 (other than on my test)

You could sell the GN on ebay. Its not worth anything much, but it should go for 250-350 quid.

lol my mate from the pub literally JUST got one. Suzuki GN 250, kinda like a custum cruiser type thing. Has quite a trick gear indicator, altho his only shows 2nd lol. And for some reason a two into one pipe (ie two manifolds, one can), does this mean its a twinner? cos the engine only looks big enough to house one piston and accompanying gubbins

Its a twin port single. A lot of the 250s of that era and later are.

Sorry if I've missed something here - but surely it's illegal to ride that 250 until she'd passed her full licence, let alone before her CBT.

Be weary that even private roads you can be had, buy i'd guess its fine provided your not makeing a nuicence of yourself...

The reason for the 250 is that not so long ago it was legal to ride 250cc bike on L plates, my dad basicly got rid of his when it changed to how it is now (he had been rideing since 15 and stoped 10 years or so ago i think) the reason for this would have been the allarming performance you can get from 250s of the time, RS250 on L-plates?

250s are perfect for commuters, cheep to run and not as lethaly dangerous as a 125 (how the cg didn't kill me i don't know) bit more go in them... would make a good get to work hack for somebody, or that it would be easy to restrict (if it even needed it).

Actually for the money you'd get you'd be better off keeping it for a spare bike if its ever needed (nice if you don't have a car)

The 250 learner limit was replaced by the 125 / 12hp learner limit just over 20 years ago.
