Ok, so I reinsured Doris yesterday, and put down 2 NCB, so phoned the two insurance companies I have had policies with in the past to send me proof.

CaroleNash sent me proof of 1 NCB.
MotorCycleDirect (my last insurance company) sent me proof of 2 NCB.

Now I thought I only had 1 year with MCD and 1 with CaroleNash, but I have proven my CaroleNash NCB to MotorCycleDirect at the beginning of my last policy.

So is that how it normally works? You prove your NCB to one company, then they'll prove those ones in the future?

Or do I actually have 2 NCB with MotorCycleDirect? Which is a possibility, I've insured with them a few times over the years.

I thought it was the former, where if you prove it to one company they will guarantee it down the line, would be a major hassle if you had 13 years no claims and had to phone all of your previous insurers to get proof

Each new company will add onto what you prove to them, so you only need to get proof from the last insurer.

Ah fair enough, I sort of suspected it might be the latter, suppose I just hoped I might have had 1 more NCB than I anticipated.

Your renewal notice from your current insurers will state your no claims, no need to phone them.

That only counts if you go with the same insurer year after year. I go with whoever's cheapest at that moment in time.

And I don't tend to keep bikes long enough to renew insurance.

you still get a renewal notice, whether or not you actually renew. This is sufficient proff of NCB to most potential insurers, as long as there isnt too big a gap in the policy dates.

Personally I tell them to get the proof themselves by checking the insurance database, of which a large chunk of my premium each year goes to pay for. So far they always have Twisted Evil

Yeah after I'd chased up proof of no claims my insurance certificate arrived saying they didn't need any proof. Bastards.

Ebike seem to be being a bit silly.
They asked for proof of my 3 years so i sent them the form from the last ins co which had the policy no, number of no claims and other details only to be told thats no good.....

So snotty email back asking waht they actually need to get a responce of ring you ins co and ask for a letter, they will know what is required. Thankfully a 0800 no so letter arrives today.
What info has it on it....
Same as i sent in the 1st palce....

So i'm just going to scan as a very large file and email as a attachment, as they request.....

They have managed to upset me already after 3 days......
