Anyone using this or tried it? Looks like good fun if I'm at work to be able to mess around on my home PC. Laughing

Not that particular one, but use LogMeIn quite happily. Handy for keeping an eye on downloads, home email, etc.

Why pay for it?

Better off using Logmein

https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/

Seems to work quite nicely

Might have a look at that, after looking more into the one I mentioned I'm not sure I'd be happy leaving my PC on all day though, waste of power! I thought it'd be somehow able to switch the pc on or at least leave it in some hibernating state...

A lot of the really useful stuff is disabled in the free version, but if you dont need it then fine.

We've been using gotomypc for about a year. Works really well - although I only really use it for emergencies when I need to do something from home.

None of these VPN-style remote login services are 100% safe, so I'd say take their security claims with a pinch of salt. Even top-dollar corporate-grade VPNs are prone to suffering from hacks, so be careful not to use it to work on anything critical.
Just a bit of friendly advice, from someone who spends an awful lot of time studying hackers.
