Since most of us are young males we are therefore the most likely to be involved in a crash. Or at least thats what the insurance companies think!

* So my question is who has crashed?
* How many times in what space of time?
* And was it your fault(be honest)?

Hi

Several crashes, but not saying when.........

Went straight on at a corner on an H100. My fault totally (slowest I had "gone round" that corner as well)
Got hit by a car on a roundabout, again on the H100. Other bods fault, and I could have done without a few more seconds towards a private pilots licence.
Fell off my MBX125 riding round town. My fault.
Ran a sheep over on my old CB400NC. Sheep are quicker than you think!
Fell off the CB400 on an unopened road in the dark. Landed up riding along the point where they had surfaced on half and not the other so there was a 2" step in the road in the direction I was travelling in. This flicked me off the bike, and I only found it when I had a close look.
Fell off my FZ750 in snow, down a service road for some houses (easier to go down there than to try a U turn in the snow). The front wheel went down a pot hole I couldnt see, and down the bike went.

All the best

Keith

Just after xmas when we had some snow, I risked going to work on my moped (got no car yet). I got there no problem, but on the way I was on a very icy road, and opened the throttle a tad too much and the back end went from under me. Luckily the road was still slightly snowy, no damage to "the beast" Smile or me

It wasn't a 'crash'...it was more of me comming off..After only being on the road for a week i was comming upto a round about too fast, pulled the front brake too hard and the rest is history.

Damage wasn't too bad..Broken indicator and scratched lower decal

I've been riding on the road for 6 years and have lost count of the amount of crashes which I have had. I have broken 2 ribs, left arm twice, right once. Broke my leg and was in hospital for 3 weeks. I have also bent quite a few bikes and just ended up with a few bruises. I do ride like a bit of a twat but hey, if you don't crash your not trying hard enough.

cum off me moped in wet accellorating and leaning (20mph) from stoped lost back wheel and spun and floor twice round! Cool Huh! Diddnt care though hardly a scratch on the bike!

Bad crash on the NSR burning round B roads cum to a very tight corner had a choice of stop accellorating and drift round by leaning or sit up and brake.

I took the later option which was the wrong one because of inexperience (riding 1 1/2 year) went strait into a ditch. learned my lession now allways drift round tight corners.

Bent subframe, broke 3 pannels, peg, indicator, dent in tank where my knee hit it! bent both forks and broke 1 spring and I recon ive bent the head set frame.

Mind you this was last summer and its back on the road but not all fixed up. Only visable damage is on back side pannel which will be replaced in summer.

Ive had a fairly bad smashes, to be fair were both my fault. One of them i was racing my mate on his XR600 and smashed into a woman who must have been partially sighted, cos she certainly didn't see me. Bent my forks and put a massive dent in my pride.

I nearly had a mortal crash in Leeds, i was going fairly swift behind a boy racer Nova i think it was and he suddenly braked, i locked up the front wheel, and by more luck than good judgement kept the bike upright. Had i hit the car i believe id of been badly hurt.

In my opinion though, accidents are caused by the tits who go slow and hesitate every two minutes. When your going quick you're concentrating on the road much more than when your going steady.
Thats my opinion anyway, but to be fare I am a bit of a madman.

a couple of annoying 'getting used to the bike' drops. another time turning hard then hit a slippy slither of concrete going into a car park.
has anyone ever tried to pick up a 180kg bike on a sheet of ice? well 2 of those drops were a minite apart Mad
i answered no to the poll cos i don't count them as crashes.
I'm waiting for Matt to reply Laughing

I came off my dt50 going round a corner. Didnt realise ide cut all my knuckles up. I was worried about my dt50 making funny grunting noises next to me!!! But hey, dt50's wernt desighned to go round corners!!!!! didnt count this as a crash as it wasnt on my NSR.

I've had to pick my 160kg KLR off ice, but I am just under 100kg myself, which helps.

A few years ago I had an amusing incident on a friends DT... I tried to put my foot down at a T junction and my trouser got caught on the broken off kickstart. My insticntive reaction was to try harder to put the foot down as the bike was allready leaning to the right. This just made it worse and I toppled over, not being able to do anything about it... there was a van vehind me as well... they must have been laughing there arses off Sad. Luckily as it was a DT50 I wasn't hurt and just got back on.

All the best crashes happen on dt 50's..... my mum did the exact same thing when riding my newly bought bike back 20 miles away. There tough little bikes and dont break, which is helpful.
