The last few weeks have been quite fortunate for me as i recently picked up 3 more bikes. One of these being a kawasaki kr1s. It's in a bit of a state, but it runs. After stripping the engine i found out that the crank was out of true by about 1.5-2mm Shocked . It looks that at some point it has been rebuilt as one of the conrods is different to the other. The seals and bearings are shagged and the pistons are a little worn but the bores are all ok.

I'm looking to get the crank rebuilt with new seals, bearings and con rods but am struggling to find places with prices. There is a ad on ebay for the job lot doing for £290 including post but i don't trust them. I've had a quick look at stan stevens and PJ engineering but they dont seem to let out much information or costs.

Do any of you nice people know any decent places? I'm not after getting it done as cheap as possible because that normally includes sacrificing quality, which i cant afford to do on a fragile engine like this.

Also does any one know where i would be able to get piston kits that don't cost the earth? I've read that you can fit pistons from a KMX125 or something along those lines but i don't know what to believe.

Any help much appreciated,
Phil.
