Hey folks. I'm planning a 3 1/2week tour leaving 20th May and returning mid June. I'll be taking my home-built campervan and a Duke 748 in the back. The plan is to drive the boring motorway bits and then take the bike on the twisties and mountain roads. My missus will be driving the van while i'm on the bike so essentially i'll have a support vehicle Very Happy Thumbs Up
I've been to Mugelo on the bike before but didn't explore while I was there. I'm quite used to doing big milage too, I did just over 1900miles (1250 on the 748) last week around the Scotland in 4days so i'm convinced the bike is pretty reliable and i'm suprised to find the bike isn't too uncomfortable.

Tuscany is our planned base but we might end up venturing further a field. I'd be keen to here your favourite roads/places to visit etc.

Cheers,

Dave.

I cant really comment on the roads/places to visit but I can tell you that you have to try the wild boar over there! I was in Florence for our honeymoon last year and aboslutely fell in love with that part of Italy. We brought 18kg's of wine, meats, cheeses and pastas back (bought a new suitcase for the purpose).

I'm so jealous!!!

Mmmm wild Boar is great. I lived next to the wild boar farm in Glenlivet (Speyside) for years and had my fair share of freebies. Bloody scarey when your out walking the dog at night and you hear them screaming and snorting in the bushes. At least I think it was the Boar Rolling Eyes

The motorway from Parma to La Spezia A15 / E33 is a very famous motorbike road in Italy.

The first bit is very straight.

Then you start cutting through the mountains and things get very interesting indeed.

Once you get to la Spezia, its worth going up Montemarcello and up the Genoese coast to Genoa.

I know this area very well as my parents have a house there, so I've been a complete geek and made a couple of maps for you! haha!
