KTM have desined a "CAR" named CrossBow or X-bow For short.

Arrow 220bhp Audi engine
Arrow 136mph
Arrow 0-60 = 3.8sec

I found it cool when Dodge built the Tomahawk but a KTM sports car is foolish, What biker would buy it. WHATS NEXT.

Who said it was aimed at bikers? It's just a bike company sprouting out and targeting a different market.

KTM have been selling quads for a while.
The car seems to be aimed at the Atom crowd; you'd have to be quite a tart to buy one over a Caterham R500 really.
That sort of money would get you a variety of semi-practical cars like the Ultima, or even probably a Nissan GTR if you do want practical.

zed, you have things the wrong way round

the dodge tomahawk is foolish (its like building a bike with perminantly squared off tyres), the ktm car would be fun

Not to mention the tomahawk is little more than an ornament to anyone who actually values their life and limbs Wink

Heres hoping Top Gear run it round the track, it'd be cool to see if it could compare to that crazy lap the Stig did in the Caterham Thumbs Up

Maybe he was thinking that, but he was talking about the tomahawk, i dont have the mind reading skills you have.

I think the KTM has been round the top gear track as i think i remember seeing it on top gear.

My bad on the lack of clarification yeah, the tomahawk isn't good for anything except trundling along at 20mph doing publicity shoots Wink

*edit* and yeah, Top Gear had the KTM in the studio once, but it wasn't running at the time Sad

The dodge tomahawk wasn't cool, it was a car manufacturer unsuccessfully branching out into motorcycles.

KTM have successfully branched out into cars. That is cool.

Also, believing that the Crossbow will only be marketed to bikers is naive at best and at worst its downright stupid.

Could pretty much get a Caterham R500 and a Caterham club thingy car for the same price!

KTM seems to be doing quite well with marketing, as there's quite a lot of other similar cars out there - Lotus 7/11, Atom, Radicals, etc. The main thing the KTM seems to have going for it is the Tart value, something that a lot of KTM owners do seem to have, I admit Embarassed.

If I were in the market for a hardcore track car, I would evaluate it against the competition and decide from there.

Having gone to race of champions last year at Wembley - the X-bow looked a little unruly if I'm honest. Probably no more unruly than an R500 would and the track was very cold, a little oily and a little icy

In fact I think I've just lost the point of this post Laughing

And then buy the KTM because it looks the coolest...

Or buy the Caterham because you've wanted one for years...

Don't try to fool us that you'd actually buy a car on pure merit! Laughing (which G does try to do sometimes... Wink )

It would probably be a Caterham / Atom toss up, yes.

The original point being that the OP's 'no bikers would buy it' comment was a load of mince.

Yes I agree 100% wholeheartedly.

Bikers can be car drivers too, and similarly, car drivers are allowed to buy the X bow even if they don't like bikes. But it seems like the OP lives in some weird parallel universe where car manufacturers are allowed to make crap bikes but bike manufacturers aren't allowed to make good cars. Its almost like he's jealous of KTM building something that he doesn't like and/or doesn't want. Karma
