I put a cyclone on my last bike and on my new bike, am actually very impressed considering the price. It seems loud enough (especially if you don't cover the siren) and basically does everything I want it to do without forcing me to sell the bike to afford it.
I bought them from here and both times got good service:

I've got a cyclone on my TDM, £25 of eBay. Only good advice is avoid the talking one (unless of course you want to actually be a wanker. )
Took 30 minutes to fit sans immobiliser/kill switch function. It has an anti-tamper function. If someone is going to try and hotwire it in order to ride it away; they're going to have to break the steering lock which will set the alarm off anyway. Equally, if they're going to roll it or chuck it a van, the alarm should sound... It all renders the immobiliser a bit moot. The remote engine kill switch might be handy for potential hijacking though.
I found there was a trade off with where you position the hooter. (You know what I mean...)
Its really loud if its uncovered but its liable to getting howked off rendering the alarm pointless. If you stick it under the seat, it is stifled a wee bit, but it still does the job.
Tip. I have mine tie wrapped on to the frame hard against a rear panel. Because of the nature of the vibration/tamper switch. If you even brush against the panel it goes off, like wise with the frame.
Only thing I've noticed setting it off accidentally was heavy rain.

hi,
i wired in one of those cyclones on sunday, on my mates cbr125.
was fairly easy, though the instructions supplied are useless! (i got some decent instructions on another forum).
im not the best at electrics, but found it a doddle.
if you can cut & join wires, you can fit it.(just get some decent connectors)
i was well impressed when it worked, lol
its got sirens, indicators all flash,it talks (which i think would get extremely irritating after a few days-it reminds you to turn the alarm on when you switch your ignition key of,ffs! but you can unplug the speaker, as its seperate from the siren)
immobiliser & remote start.(bit of a gimmick),
the anti hi-jack thing looks like it could be fun,
i toyed with the idea of keeping one of the fobs & wait till my mate was passing mines, on his way to work.
then cut the power to the bike.
he' be wondering why it always cut out at exactly the same place, lol
oh, & it all works! lol
think it only cost him 20 odd quid. bargain i reckon.
cheers,
GAZ

Mmm...
Although I've never fiddled with it, there are ways you can configure the alarm. For example you can turn the arming/disarming beep and the flashing indicators off by pressing a sequence of buttons on the fob.
It might be the case that the LED is deactivated, sure I read in my instructions that you could do that.
Have you tested the LED? If its faulty, its worth replacing it (only pennies) for the visual deterent. Or, get in touch with where you bought it and see if they'll send a replacement LED out, (they are that cheap.) Assuming of course it is the LED and not the box.

hi,
maybe... never thought of that.
dont have the instructions now, but dont think it said anything about de-activating the led.
heres the thing, the led it came with, did work, but now doesnt.
so i cut off the plug & wired it into a battery-nothing!
I then tried the led from the faulty alarm, which didnt have a plug, just bare wires (and was actually better quality, as it has an alloy screw mount rather than just a plastic push in mount) & wired that to the plug, but still nothing!
but when i wire that one straight to the battery, it stays lit!
cant figure it out.
dont think he's that bothered with the led though.
but after the hassle i had with drilling the correct sized hole in the rear tail plastics, he should be! lol
& he bought it from a member of another forum, so he cant complain really.
cheers,
