Well my insurance has been renewed..
I'm now £1095 lighter off
They wouldn't budge from £1295 but soon as I rang up today and said I was renewing instantly they happily dropped to £1095 with no hassle. Hmmm.. Tried to get it under £1000 but they wouldn't do that unfortunately.
Thanks Danny for calling around, shame that you couldn't get it lower but I appricieate your efforts.
So CIA have successfully stolen £1095 of my cash and I don't get nowt for it.

Jeeeez, that's steep!
I kinda hope you don't get anything back for it really - if you do it means you've had an accident or the bike's been nicked! What a weird set up - you pay all that money and actually don't want anything back for it! |

cath, I won't get nowt back!
I'm TPF&T
I'm 18 so can't claim for theft anyway as my insurance will be far too much next year.
So if someone nicks my bike tomorrow I've lost £5k for the bike and £1k for the insurance.
So hence why young people feel so robbed when we get insurance. Because we don't see nothing for it, other than if we cause an accident obviously we need it then... ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes

Hmmmm... they "assume" it's dangerous because 18 on an R6.
I've been riding a year now and never claimed. Would be different for a 30 year old who's just passed their test and got an R6 though, they'd get insured for around £300 I'd imagine.
Ahh well, moaning won't change it but I have always wanted to do some advanced training, might get that done this year
Is IAM etc really expensive though so would really outweigh the costs of insurance and still be expensive, BUT personally I'd be doing the training to improve my riding, not specifically to get my insurance down. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

The IAM training used to be rather fun, unlike the test for your license (or at least how it used to be, not had anything to do with the new theory/practical set up) the guys actually teach how to ride on a road in everyday conditions. You'll certainly walk away from it with a better knowledge of road dynamics than you went in with, and quite possibly a better understanding of how to ride your bike effectively.
That's in no means meant to be a slight on whatever your current abilities are, but imho it's WELL worth doing, as an added bonus you'll get to save shed loads on your insurance over the next 5-7 years while you accumulate no-claims |

I definetly want to do some advanced training, I've improved a LOT since getting the R6 but I could do with a bit more training on a few things to smooth out some stuff.
I'm not too good around town at times, can't stand rush hour traffic etc, although I've improved I'm still not as good as I want to be.
So advanced training will be ideal ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I'm 18 and both my bike and its insurance are 400, i really cant see the point it wasting all that money just to go a bit faster , i'm waiting for a few years, restricted license runs out, insurance goes down, experience goes up, savings go up, and hello 2006 augusta, and you'll have spent all your wonga on insuring a bigger bike at a stupid age so you can be just that little bit faster than everyone else.
Good things come to those who wait . ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.

It's not all about going faster... I bought an R6 because I like them, and I've had an older 400, got bored of it so theres no way I'm going to buy an even older bike. I always go forwards, not backwards!! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |
