Looking for input..

I recently bought a set of richa leathers off ebay good qualityat a good price good fit but just a slight wee bit short(just above the ankle).
I bought a new set of knoxs knee armour and put them into the trousers,i wore them for the first time on sunday and the armour seems to have to much dept and two things are happening round the knee is uncomfortbly tight and they are also making the trouser shorter...
Is the any universial knee armour out there that aren't as deep but still you the full protection.

Cheers
