X-Lite X602 Start Helmet - any good?

Already have an open face helmet, now I'm after a new full-face one. Am considering an X-lite X602 Start (Black) at £250 at Hein Gericke shop here in Northampton. It fits nicely and is in my price range. Any tips/advice before I go and buy it? Last time I bought one was nearly 30 yrs ago! Would appreciate help on best place to buy, cheaper/better online, are HG a good place to buy a helmet - are they amenable to haggling etc.? Anyone else here got an X-Lite?

have a look at 4theride.co.uk - you'll probably find a voucher you can use for it. I got one that gets me 20% off everything at the stoke one. They lose a few marks for spamming it here, but its still worth being aware of. If I had the spare cash, I'd be tempted to get my first Arai with that kind of discount Smile

I have an X-lite, pleased with it so far, only complaint is that its pretty noisy from ~80mph upwards, works as a kind of licence friendly speed limiter on longer journeys though Thumbs Up

Mines an X-lite X-601, was pretty much the cheapest X-lite on display but i didnt need anything fancy to be honest, as with you, it fitted well.

Oh and the visor is a complete doddle to take on and off,a real 5 second jobby, useful for quick visor changes Thumbs Up

I too have an x-lite, a couple of years old now, was the top one at the time, cost me 290squid.

I like it a lot - fits my head, and has held up very well, padding is still firm and there is no wear to the strap/lining, so be comfortable that the build quality is good. Can't comment on the noise - I have not really worn other helmets to assess against, and I wear earplugs all the time.

got my xlite 601 of ebay last year for £120 brand new boxed and love it and i have had a few lids in my time.

as for noise wear ear plugs .
personally i wont ride without em Thumbs Up
