Hi

does anyone know of any way to tell the difference between a K1 and K2 GSXR750?

i think my bike is a k1 model registered in 2002, but am eying p a power commander so need to know for definite which model it is as the K1 has a different power commander model to the K2

k1 and k2 are almost identical looks wise.

I think the k2 had a new fuel management system so if yours is a k1 get the k1 pcIII.

thats the thing - im not 100% sure - was wondering if you cuold find out by checking components or serial number etc

Your serial should have model k1 or k2 on it somewhere, I no longer have my k5's or I could tell you.

If he goes to https://bikepics.com/ and compares the years he can figure out which is his.

A quick visual way to check will be that the k1 has black downpipes, the k2> has stainless steel etc. Check bikepics.com for finer details like fairings & blah de blah........

the bikes got a custom paint job and akrapovic exhaust - downpipes are a bit rusty so unfortunately cant really use that either Smile
love making things difficult for myself

Is it not listed on your V5? On mine it reads as GSXR 750 K5, my old SRAD had the model designation (X) on the V5 too.
Failing that, I would suggest your best bet would be to get the VIN number, engine number etc and give Suzuki GB a ring.
Best i can do, i'm afraid.
