 |
|
I thought I'd post this on here as we seem to have a pretty impressive collection of knowledgeable members who have been able to help out with various company issues in the past!
I recently ordered a present for my wife through Fountasia Giftware but it hasn't turned up and checking my bank account the money doesn't seem to have come out... yet! On trying to contact the company, the phone numbers don't work and there is no response to the email address given. Is there any way of telling if a company has gone bust recently, anyone used this company or live near it??

I did a search on a company info site I used when back in the UK, and this company is in the hands of the administrators, as of March 2008.
Now, from reading the progress reports, one of the directors of the company bought the 'assets' of the company back from the administrators, and put them into a new company - Fountasia International Limited.
So, I think that you have bought through a site which was the property fo the old company, and have no chance of completing the transaction through them. Cancel the payment.
You could try and track down this newco, Fountasia Intl and see if they have the product you are after, but tbh, the dude seems like a bit of a prick - running his co in to the ground and buying what assets there were left at a knock down price. |

Very interesting stuff, thanks for that. I'll be onto my bank asap to cancel this transaction then. ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

Very bizarre. I emailed the email address earlier given on the website page saying do they have an alternative number as the 'ordering hotline' number given on the webpage doesn't seem to work. I've just received a response with a telephone number attached and nothing else, no 'Hello', no 'This is our new number', no name, no company name or signature attached.
I'm a bit suspicious about this and think I'll still contact the bank to cancel the transaction asap and forget about the whole thing! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.
