mileage on an SRAD??

hey guys

not sure if this should go here or in the workshop but its just a general question about my GSXR 600 SRAD 1999. Ive only had it 2 weeks and am just getting used to it and was wondering what kind of mileage im looking at after the petrol "idiot" light has come on?? does the light go solid at any point or does it just flash until the bike dies??
Im not planning on ignoring it or anything but I just want an idea of how many miles i have if say for example ive just passed a petrol station, the light pops on and then the next one is after my motorway stint (1 exit) of riding on my way home from work??

Ive worked out im prob looking at about 100miles from full tank to when the red light flashes at me, which will probably improve with time and realisation that i dont have to set off at ridiculous revs (blame the 2 stroke learning) but after several "petrol running out" moments on my previous bike (RS125 with no idiot light ) im just trying to make sure it doesnt happen to me again!

Also any other things i should know about the SRAD which may come up??

About 130 miles from a Full tank then reserve light comes on and thats usually good for about 20-30 miles more

Pretty sure it does go fully on from flashing, it's been a while since I got that low on my old SRAD. IIRC there are over 3L left in the tank when the light comes on, so at least 30m if you take it easy.

Yes, as Damofo says, it does go onto full light after the flashing.

According to manual,

flashing light = 4litres remaining
solid light = 2.5litres remaining

I did 190 miles before the light came on once on my 99 SRAD.

That was very easy riding! Had a knackered chain and rear tyre and was very scared!

I never know the petrol light went solid! But I could happily do 120-130 miles before filling up.
