Ok, I am covered in petrol and oil as we speak. It's not good. Piston is disintigrated, and unluckily for me, pieces (big and small) have made their way beneath the crank. We have spent ages trying to clean out the crankcase as best we can, but figure it ain't worth splitting the crankcase open. What I am gonna do is get the top end sorted, then unfortunately I am gonna have to sell it. Reason being, it's looking on the bad side of £300 to sort out the bike properly, by which time winter will have set in and I won't wanna go on the bike anyway.
So, it's getting semi-sorted then sold on. Nasty I know, but I can't afford to keep it. It's going to be auctioned off as soon as the bike is rebuilt, but to be honest the engine is gonna blow before too long, it will be lucky to manage another 1000 miles. I have been done over by somebody because the piston that is in the bike currently (before it disintigrated) was not the original, and it looks like it's the wrong piston anyway.
Should fetch £1500 at auction, which will leave me without a bike. What do I do??? Insurance on anything for me will be £500 at least, which will leave me £1000 to spend. I dunno what to go for, a car or a bike. I really don't know. I know you will all reply to this thread saying bike bike bike, but to be honest I am too pissed off and angry to think straight at the moment. ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

Yeah I should still be going to RnB m8, it will be the last time I chuck my biking gear on for quite a while anyways, and I won't even be riding the bike myself
Doesn't £1000 seem like a lot of money??? Then you realise you can get fuck all in the biking world apart from some shit slow 4 stroke 125, anything else it's way too expensive on insurance. Car insurance is the proper killer, but car engines are made to last a lot longer than bike engines, so generally need less maintence. WHATEVER happens, I am still gonna visit the forum regularly, cos as soon as I can afford a bike as well as a car (maybe next year when I have a job) I am gonna buy one and get back to biking ways. ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

No, but since when has that stopped me
If I can get one for a grand I might just do that, providing insurance ain't gonna be more than £500 for whatever level of cover.
I got my theory test booked for 30th July, and will be putting in for either my car or bike test providing I pass. Car test if I decide to go for a car, bike test if I decide to go for a bike, obviously.
Anyone refer me to the thread on the Goose, I can't seem to find it ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

I thought so Keen, and the theory test application form seems to look like you do, but I know about 4 people who have took a theory test for a car, and then gone onto do their bike test straight away, so..... I dunno
Just for the hell of it, mine's the car theory test I have booked. ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

Keith I bought it from Rider Motorcycles as a crasher. Sold as seen. Very light frontal damage (plastics) and the frame thingy that holds the clocks was bent so I had to get a new one of them... oh and a headlight.
I could get an angine for it for £280, with 12000 miles on it, but if I did this I would want to budget for a new piston and rings anyway at that mileage, so I would be looking at £300+.
Think I will cut my losses and sell it. I have been convinced to stick with bikes as many of you will be glad to hear, and I am after a Suzuki Goose 350 now ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

your situation is similar to mine. I got mine crashed with just cosmetic damage but then engine problems have started to occur. I'm gonna trade it in as well. I'm also after a goose |
