PostPosted: 23:05 - 30 Mar 2009    Post subject: Some sort of medical person help please? Reply with quote

I went in the most violet moshpit of my life on saturday, pushed the muscle up over the bone in my wrist which is fine now.

But my ribs hurt every time I stand up, and now I'm getting stomach cramps and reckon I'm close to vomiting. Could these things (or just generally being twatted about) be linked or have I got the virus that's going around?

Cheers

Edit:

I know it's not big or clever, I basically just need someone to tell me whether I should be going to A&E for a ruptured spleen or something.

I don't really have anyone to ask.

Also I did ask for a medical person, i.e. nurse or something.

Im trying hard not to insult you, but why would you wait for a medical person to reply to this thread instead of going to hospital now if it could be something serious?

'kin hell.

At the very least you'd call NHS direct , who will invariably tell you to go to hospital.

Phone NHS Direct, explain symptoms, they will tell you to go to the ozzy
Or just save time and go anyway
If you feel that bad you should go
Your ribs dont hurt with a virus? Not unless you be puking for days and are strained??

That's the point, hospital is a long way away, and I would have to wake someone up to get there.

If I don't have to go then I don't want to, which is why I'm not just going on the offchance/calling NHS direct

You'd struggle to get seen at the GP before all the layabouts and malingering women who have totally monopolised the medical system.

It;s fucking disgraceful that nowadays the hard working man can get advice quicker by BECOMING A FUCKING DOCTOR HIMSELF than he could ever hope of getting an appintment.

Of course, if you're an unemployed, scrounging mother of five, never done a days work in your life, and little Johhny's got the shits again, straight to the front of the fucking queue you go.

No - you're alright fella. It's better to get medical advice on line if you're a bloke, because doctors have no time for men.

When you call NHS Direct they simply input your symptoms, talk you through how you feel and advise you on what to do!
They dont force you to ozzy!
We called a couple o years back at midnight after our daughter was vomiting for about 8 hours non stop and started bringing up bllod. They were spot on with diagnosis, she has ruptured stomach / throat lining, and she was in ozzy for about 5 days on a drip!!!!

Just call them. You lose nothing

I would say A+E, The least you have done is muscle contusions (bruising) for which they will prescribe strong painkillers as it has been known to affect breathing depth.

The most... cant possible say, probably depends on what the symptoms are....its highly unlikely its your spleen. Splenic injuries usually bring on bouts of shock... so just get yourself checked for the ribs mate Smile

I'm reckoning broken bone somewhere.

Having seen pictures of the delicate flower it wouldn't suprise me. The marrow tends to cause nausea etc. So I'm told. I are Bruce Willis.

Funny you should say that.... i'd have thought the nausea would be due to the adrenaline release from the injury...?

Adrenalin blocks most senses (especially pain), so maybe it wearing off could have then allowed underlying injury to manifest.

But still Thinking

Ah well, lets wait for the official verdict.
