Fairly mundane thread here, but basically, what do you guys do for food etc if you're training in the morning?
What with late shifts (1.30-10) every weekday bar wednesdays and working weekends, I have to go in the morning now
My problem is, normally before I go to the gym I eat a cock load of protein (ie meat) and a bit of carbs, let it go down for an hour and then go. Works fine for afternoon or evening sessions.
Not quite sure if this is such a good idea for breakfast, especially as I'm never that hungry in the morning.
So, how have you guys got round it? ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Bah... protein shakes/powders are the beginning of the end. Every tosser I've ever met has a box stashed away somewhere
Can you do savoury porridge? I was thinking of just dropping a dead animal in it?
Anyhew, plan on gym tomoro, gonna try and get a light breakfast, then have a massive beasty kidney and liver meal (both at dinner and lunch) to keep me going
Might have to cook it early and have it before though ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Ussually do porridge or poached egg on toast washed down with protein drink or just lately one of those "for goodness shakes" although my trainer tells me they're s**t,but then i suppose your diet depends on what you actually go to the gym for, originally i went to lose weight and tone up,now i just go to get away from the missus |

I agree with them. They're just milkshakes.
Read the bottle, it says drink them /after/ your workout and feel healthier the next one
Anyhew, I do not care for this morning gym malarkey, so much rushing about as I have to leave for work by 12.30, plus leaving an hour ish between eating and training Got up at 9.30 today and it still feels tight
Oh, and I went for a tuna omelette ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

I don't know how you can train in the mornings, I've tried and it just annihilates me. Have started going about 9ish on a night when I can have the place to myself. ____________________ 2005 Yamaha R6 |

Has to be taken on a empty stomach, worked perfectly for me in the mornings, when i worked out, now i work out in evenings , i cannot take as i eat around 1 hours - 30 mins before gym and it fucks up my stomach if taken with food. |
Tell me yur trolling now. Oh yes, Nos wil definitly put a spring in your step
And gym was fine today, took it out of me and nearly fainted after sprinting the final part of my mile on the treadmill (need to work on sugar intake i think), but feel fine now. No aches at all ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

I take it you dont know much about working out or supplements?

But yea try some NOS before you goto gym, maybe try tying a pink powerband around your biceps, i hear it helps you lift more.
Or try a shake, with cpl scoops of ready break or some other type of oats, with around 5g of creatine, make sure its monohydrate though, or else not worth buying. ____________________ - - - BIKE - - - Passed CBT : 21/07/06 - - - Currently : Riding a 2001 Aprilia rs125 (SOLD)

Get up earlier then you lazy toe rag.
With that said, if I wasn't so lazy I'd definately subsitute the protein shake with the real thing, but its a mixture of convienience, being economically viable and then being lazy.

See im not a morning person in general, but with regards to training , when I was at uni I used to love being able to go in the mornings because I'd feel my best. Nowadays going after a long draining day at work always makes me feel as if I'm not getting the best out of it.

Unfortunately I fell for this one about 2 years ago. I might as well have set fire to the £30 for all the good it did me. Didn't notice a thing, not a hint of anything at all.

Each to their own. Worked very well for me, all lifts went up, bench went up by 25kg in the 30 days serving,
Aint been on it for a good few months and aint had a half a good workout since.
If used right can work very well in my opinion, and loads of other peoples.
As soon as i stop working late shifts i will be buying again. |
Fair do's, I was just bitter after all the "Rave reviews", and I didn't feel so much as an enery spurt.

It didnt really give me any energy, well i still felt as tired as i did before i took it, as far as i can remember, just being able to lift alot more, got great pumps shame they only lasted for 30 mins lol, i thought it tastes like shit though, made me gag everytime while i drunk it, had the punch one and orange.
Always made me need a shit 30 mins after taking it though..

My system works pretty good Bonny.
Wake up, make a PowerCoffee and CalmoSpliff. Drink and smoke whilst having a good shit( internal cleansing cycle)
Then I'm good to go, ready to move on to the pc room and hit the zone.
I've been known to do at least 30 reps on the keyboard before having another CalmoSpliff to ease down before going on to the next machine.
I'm a bit of an animal so sometimes think "fuck it, I'm gonna go for it" and go from keyboard to fax machine. I'll hit the wall pretty quick with that though, so more PowerCoffee and maybe a HealthinBacoButtie to regain my levels of buffoid acids.
This too could work for you...
