Bought a 1 piece Berik suit today. They felt really good in the shop. But I've just tried them on (still wearing them now) and they are actually like a second skin.

I know leathers do have alot of give, I've heard Alpinestars are the toughest? Not sure on that.

But any first hand experience with Berik suits, and how easily they bed in? I've a feeling I am going to have a very uncomfortable summer in this suit. Confused

Like these but blue.

Do you possibly mean suit?

As opposed to suite?

Dont quote me on this but A* are quite thin & and the name just bumps up price (Working at HG I was led to beleive this so Im unsure)
But from the feeling of A* stuff to A/Ness - I would go with the latter.

Anyway - I love Berik stuff - But at the moment im more then happy with Arlen ness bottoms.

Ive not had a 1 peice before but from talk there not the most comfy thing to wear brand new

Confused

Stick with yours - You have a nice arse Thumbs Up

Keep moving, keep stretching and whatever you do don't lean back or you may split your balls. If you can get into it now theres a good chance it will give enough to be comfortable! Wink

They do look quite tight Laughing

I've got a 2 piece berik suit, had it for over 2 years. I thought mine was tight at first and hard to move, but it is so comfy now, just give em time me thinks.

Ben...

I'd definitely roger you! You look buff there

Thumbs Up

Berik/arlen ness are all from the same parent company; Madif.

The kangaroo hides would have improved abrasion resistance whilst having a thinner hide. Cowhide would be tough enough if its of a sufficient thickness. Most suits are about 1.2-1.4 mm thick but i believe alpinestars medium range/low end suits are about 1.2-1.3mm and they do feel rogher and less supple.

Don't quote me on this, but during the leather tanning process, due to the chemicals and dies used to colour leathers, certain dyes will have a greater impact on the structural integrity/bond strength of the hide. I believe blue is less wear resistant than red leathers due to the dye and chemical agents. I saw it on some youtube video when they did a tour of the alpinestars factory and demonstrated their tool for measuring abrasion tolerances.

But in your instance your suit looks like a good fit. I know I'm an a* whore, but for a suit costing the same, i'd go for Arlen Ness/Berik. Most of my alpinestars kit; leathers in particular are from their 2002-2004 range where i believe the quality of the leather and manufacturing was at its prime; they've only started developing "good" quaility stuff recently. Take my silver jacket for instance (you know, the one i wore to yours the first time we met Ben), that's lasted me 4 years of all season abuse and the leather barely looks worn (2002 SMX jacket), whereas i don't htink their 2005 equivalent would have lasted as well.

Anyway, enjoy your leathers. Make sure you condition and wax it to keep it supple. HG i believe sell leather wax that'll last a good 4-5 applications. Apply that and it'll make the break-in period less of a hassle.

i got some of that wax from hein gerike for my kangaroo arlen ness, i rubbed in tiny amounts like the woman told me, and when it all dried i got this white crustation appearing everywhere.

i went back there with them on and was like WTF, she just told me to clean it off with warm water, not done it yet, but i wont be putting the shite on them again.

Thumbs Up

Do you not rub it in and massage it like you massage a girl's tushie? If you did, then dunno why it should be going like that. Basically when i rub mine in, it's got the appearance of a gay man's skin with baby oil and stays that way for a few days. I notce the leather's more flexible after that too.

If you want to feel uber ghey, wear your leathers and rub yourself with wax... sounds funny, but it works! Or you can make a sexy-time foreplay thingy out of it!
