Why?
I was riding in just jeans for the first 3-4 years of riding, never had a problem and had several spills.

Dunno, i guess it depends how fast you ride. Personally, i ride with enough protection on that if i come off and slide up the road, its not going to skin me to the bone. Ok, its not going to stop some cager smashing me up if i come a cropper, but if i manage to ditch it in a fast corner, at least i know i have done as much as i can to limit the amount its going to hurt me.
You want to ride in jeans, fair play to you! Chicks dig scars, we all know that! Its all down to personal preference how you kit yourself up, and personally i'd rather be over, than under-protected.
Of course, im not saying i'm right - far from it - this is just my take on a many angled situation. (Plus, the missus would take my keys away if i came back with legs like that!lol!)

It's my turn for a say, considering it was me who went down, from what i remember, I was at low speeds, hadn't even shifted into second yet, and as i took the corner i said to myself, WTF!! and next thing i know I'm sliding on my back watching my bike leave me behind, it felt as if the bike wouldn't turn, as silly as it sounds, but either way i guess it was my fault, and the whole jeans issue... I have been buying lots of bike gear, and just that day i was looking at some ICON reinforced jeans, but didn't have the funds to buy them yet, next time i hop on a bike I will be more equipped, as for now I'm just glad i can walk, |
