My bike is supposed to have a PSI of 36 at both wheels. If the front was 32PSI and the rear was 40 PSI, what effect would this have?

From what I've noticed with pressures is that if it's underinflated then it'll slow you down a bit and use more fuel. Too little pressure and it wont turn very well. Too much pressure makes the bike a bit jittery and too responsive, not really sure what other down sides there are. 40 on the rear does seem fairly high. Mines runs at 30 front and 33 rear.

Well basically I have just got my finger out after about 7 weeks Embarassed and checked my tire pressure. This is what it's reading. I was thinking that this would explain why the bike was feeling a little wobbly, for want of a better word, when I'm cornering. Confused

I have mine at the recommended pressures for high speed/with pillion but have been wondering why my front is wearing the same as the rear.
Due to the high pressure the rubber has been ripping - causing increased wear so I've had to reduce the pressure in the front.
I've tried to attach the pics but i keep getting page cannot be displayed as soon as I click "add attachment" Sad

incidently I thought it was strange that the recommended pressures for solo and 2 up riding are the same on my bike.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Generally... a higher presure will mean the tyre warms up more, but has less movement, so grip can be comprimised slightly.

While a softer tyre takes longer to warm up, but can move around a bit more.

Start to get too much under 30 for the front and the steering is noticeably affected... though it's easy enough to not notice if you have a slow puncture. To the degree I've got on some certain other people's bikes and got off at the bottom of my road because it doesn't want to turn Confused.
